I believe it’s based on the average purchased price of the shares, I might be wrong though, so it is worth checking.

As an example, invest 70k in BP at £2 35000 shares and your up 50%. At £3, 105k in total.

You sell two thirds for 70k that’s made up as follows:

Initial investment: £46,666
Capital gain:£23,333

But, you need to check this.

Another point , check with your platform provider how long it takes for funds to be withdrawn and/or available for transfer into your isa.

I’m with HL and although the funds can be invested straight after a sale, I’m unable to withdraw or transfer for several days.

Caitlin, BP ADR is trading at just over $24, given the exchange rate, its flat at 2.95 after the conversion.

Fingers crossed the Brent price goes over $55 and we open and finish over £3. That would top off what has been a fantastic week.

BP ADR is six ordinary BP shares combined.

BP ADR is 6 X BP UK. So if you divide the price by 6 and then convert to pounds, it’ll give some kind of idea.
