Yes indeed, I have received Companies House notifications that 2 receivers have been appointed, "details to follow".
So - that's that dream dead. At least my holding of 100,000 will be of use in any capital gains calculations, about £3,800. So may be of some use sometime. Best do it before election (no matter which parties), because they will need to target CGT to raise some of the £400bn. Need to look at this back through history and see if I need to learn lessons here. I might have lost a bit, but some have lost millions.

Hello, have read H2 end to complete de-merger, anybody got a date before which I should sell. I have not kept my eye on things, after reading this morning, I am minded to sell PRU intact.

I topped up on 23/3/21 at 104.59p (with costs) - it fell and has kept falling loss now at 7 % today at 97.3p. OK so I get the dividend but of course not much use if the SP falls away is it. My first buy is now 16.25% down, currently both holdings amount to 6.6% of active portfolio, perhaps a bit high but I wanted this to be a core holding. Looking at the SP graph, it gently is declining south.

Is there to be a bounce or is this trend going to continue, if so I guess cut losses? I have read that this decline is due to lower demand and cheaper oil (but that trend has reversed). I did expect the trendline to reverse, hence the top up. Is there something I am missing?

At last this is moving again, I expect to see at least 42p by spring. Still even then a long way to go before Schroders earn some fees, as I said before, they know what they are doing. A good time to open position or top up IMHO. I have 2 significant (for me) holdings showing big losses but intend to stay put rather than top up.

I still think despite these losses this trust helps me have a balanced portfolio, it will come right.

So is this a year end lift or a netting off the books.? Or has somebody/corporate action leaked out and when opened next week this will continue? I have often read that the free float of shares is small so exaggerated SP moves result from quite small volumes.

Still a pleasant way to end the year for those who did a punt this morning. I looked at it and decided with already holding a significant (for me ) amount I would not take part. Still 25 - 50% in a morning must be a great feeling.

100,000 here. As some stage I expected a consolidation perhaps 1000:1 even. The small shareholders like me are actually irrelevant to the company, perhaps a small irritation. Over time Jenkins will be moping up, the big holders adding to theirs. The ex bondholders still expect to get a return hence they saved the company. At some stage it will either go bust or be sold - we might get a tiny amount per share perhaps 10p? This is some way off and the company must be profitable first, that actually looks less likely each year to me.
I am just siting on my hands on this one, I consider this be be a total loss, for that's what it is in reality, but I hang on in part to be a very small bug in the big ocean. Might use any capital losses for CGT purposes in two or three years time, by then the future will be clear for our company.
As you say a lesson learned, well actually several lessons !!!!!!

I think this is yet another of my holdings that is going to go bust, I did subscribe to the rights issue, but now feel that with the Covid situation with us for perhaps years to come it seems, I will be proved wrong and have wasted money.

Well, our company is still alive and kicking. With the much reduced costs, even the smallest good news and revenue will have a very positive effect.
I am staying for the ride upwards. At the time of the delisting I did expect a big consolidation to remove the small fractional shareholders and then some kind of corporate action eventually leading to a re-listing or new company. So far nothing. The bond holders who stumped up did so because of the expectation of a return. Share trades have increased it seems, I expect the accounts to have some good news, not long to wait now. You could check companies house site if you have registered?

Excellent posts recently. Your analysis is correct IMHO. My only problem will be at what time I crystallise profits and bail. I do half expect the company to attract corporate action, it is easy to see in a years time that the SP could breach £1. Joy. But I don't think I cam hold my nerve if this takes off though. or can I?
Not there yet though so will stop paying close attention now, I am going to sit back and enjoy the ride for now. I have waited years for this.

All things considered a decent 6 months. Still has cash and if the sale goes through should give enough to keep progress going for a while. An on-going revenue stream from the sale is an excellent idea, far better than a total cash sale. Regular income is v useful, shows confidence.
Pleased to be in here - taking longer, when it jumps I resist temptation to bail out. I have been here so long from the FB days that another 2 -3 years makes no difference, my top ups are nicely in profit, at time gets close to wiping FB losses away. I expect this to get to 30-40 p where it will attract attention, who knows after that. Still think long term this will get bought out - massive p lift on present Sp then. Since all holdings are in ISA's no GGT.
UNLESS - thanks to Covid it becomes necessary for the ISA tax rules to be amended. THAT IS A REAL POSSIBILITY OF COURSE. Meantime since there is nothing I can do about that staying with the strategy.

Re : David Smith. You seem to know a fair amount. If he had not been appointed who was there in the company that might have been able to steer to the present position?

Stone Checker was of its day a great development (and still is of course), but he had the inspiration to see Imaging Biometrics was likely to do better in any company sale. I do recall a video where he was pressed on possible sales of the company, he responded to the effect that as a big shareholder he was aligned with smaller shareholders interests.

Flying Brands, well having been a holder from way, way back (who had many years of very acceptable returns above my original stake), I suggest that the changes in VAT being charged and increasing competition in flowers and plants by post, it being shown to be a money maker, caused a terminal decline as well as some bad decisions of the then boards. I do not recall seeing David Smith as being part of this.

Your post was interesting to read and then spoilt by that sentence, Flying brands died because it could not compete, its various business ventures, ill thought through and probably overpaying for goodwill. Once the AGM is out of the way I am sure there will be news, conceivably even the sale of the company entirely (not that I want that, I am a buy and forget investor).

Just been levied an Overseas Custody Charge of £37.13, this has not been levied before, I have held stock for some time.

Anybody know what has happened to cause this. Secure message reads: "The overseas custody charge has been levied in respect of your holding in Paragon Banking Group, this incurs the charge as it is held in an overseas depot in your account."

Further to previous. Good articles in both Times and Telegraph Saturday. Of course as a result of Schroders puff but also the update. Both articles are positive to me, trust of the week in the Telegraph is a good start.

Expect to see SP Rise on Monday/Tuesday even if it falls back again, some will see this as the low point and want in. This trust fills a gap in many portfolios, which is why it was popular when first listed. Yes, it will be years but to me this is the good news.

Bought in at 21.5p seems to have found the bottom around this price. Tim Creed and Ben Wicks take a different view from you as managers. The annual financial report is well worth a read.

Not really - Like most if not all companies Covid has stuffed things up. TB is using his talents where he thinks best for now. At least there is cash and with a bit of luck Stone Checker will sell within next 12 months. Clear message though on mergers and acquisitions. The retained losses could still be a lot of use. Still think this will make me some money and set straight my Flying Brands losses. If it drops much further, will have to break my rule and do another big top up, will go down and challenge the lows I reckon. Feeling brave?

Placed a buy order for 3000 at 131.5p this morning . I wonder if it will fill or bounce away? Seems to me to be well oversold, there seems to have been a big sell at close yesterday. Only a couple of hours to opening. Time for tea and toast

Bad news comes in 3's, one more to come and that could be the big one that reduces this to the Afren levels, before extinction. And yes I am a holder and yes I backed the rights issue, so I hope above is wrong. Yet knowing the car crash that Africa is for equity holders (this joins a long line of fails), there is little chance, hence fire sale so that the directors can salvage some of their options.

I now have a rule, that no matter how compelling the story, I will never, ever, invest in Africa again, it is off the risk scale.

Good to you still reading the posts SS. On the substance of my post - do you see the possibilities further out such as illustrated by IQ-AI ltd for example? The D for E people will get their money back in due course, is it not best to hang onto their coat tails? and have a bit of the action, which I am sure will come. All part of the master plan that robbed smaller invertors of the possibility to enjoy the rewards of many years of investment. There is value here surely at he last price quoted?
