Spar the EU is a total farce, deliberately keeping banking and insurance out of the "imaginary" single market purely because the UK had a comparative advantage in the those areas. Whereas there was a customs union in manufactured goods where Germany had a comparative, advantage naturally french farmers heavily subsidised. The EU is frankly a sick joke, and anyone shilling for UK membership of such a thing was always a quisling.
