Different business model to when it was in the top 100.
Very good at winning contracts but no very good at maintaining and running them very well. The ethos is win win win, very little care is afforded to staff. The ceo made some changes which helped a few. Sadly its lost its appeal hence the high turnover of staff.
Yep, all true. I've been saying that ESS is not worth 500m, too much investment required to make a worthwhile investment.
John Lewis made some big changes for staff and made manager more accountable. But the bottom line is, they are still in trouble. I would be amazed if ESS sells for 500m, or if at all. Difficult to be positive when there is so much turmoil in capita.
Apologies, that came out rude. Wasn't meant that way.
There is no cash to invest in ESS, if it were that simple don't you think they would have done so. The sims and college software has had massive cash injections over the last 20 years, and the profit line has been dropping ever since.
Redundancies are happening, some departments are being reduced by 50%. Plus no holidays to be carried over into 2021. Not a happy bunch.
I was nervous, I initially came in at low 30s then again at 48!
No idea, don't believe any interested parties have come through yet. Its needs someone with knowledge of the sector. Also, the division needs new investment and reengering to bring it upto modern day requirements. If nothing happens by Xmas capita may not sell.
Who would have thought then that the sp would fall to below 30p! Initially I was in for the short term, but got greedy and should have sold at 50, but bought more stock at 48p. If I can make a profit in the next few months I will leave this to you guys who know what they're doing.
Can I just ask where you got this selling info from? As far as I know a buyer has not yet come forward.
Probably balls that up by undercutting every other tender.
ESS is a money pit. The software sold to schools had to be rolled after a major upgrade not that long ago. As for fe and he, all providers are struggling. With regards to servers, the SIMS software is sullied via a cloud service, schools still have an internal requirement for servers to some degree.
ESS requires major transformation and modernisation if it wants to stay for the long term, which means big investment. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't sell and Capita choose to run a chunk of ESS on a notice period to fulfil existing contracts.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow, bought in at low 30's and also at 48. Was very concerned we had made a big mistake. Good luck everyone.
They did, staff had to take so much leave by end of August. They cannot afford to carry over.
Just need to offload ESS by Xmas, they did say if no one is prepared to buy then they will keep, that's nonsense as they need some major investment into ESS, but they're broke.
I was hoping for a quick turnaround but it looks like I'm in for the longer term.
Still no interested parties with the move to create capita ESS Ltd. This 500m value will be a tough price to fulfill.
Hi, what are the implications of Capita creating a subsidiary of ESS before the selloff?
Is there any mention of interested buyers yet? The education market has been problematic from the start, not one single supplier has mailed it. Whoever pucks up ESS will need to be investing big time in two products that have caused headaches for the board.
Hi all, there was a big buy this morning - 61,793. Looks good.
