RE: Got to be worth a punt21 Jan 2022 10:50
@ Rufman, there is only one thing we can assess from the current situation as it stands. There has been no RNS from the company which means they're still evaluating the wireline data. The fact that they only see a 12M column must seem a massive disparity between those readings and the 3D seismic dataset using state-of-the-art full waveform inversion. Which we have to remember was done independently by DUG.
One could understand a difference of 20 metres either more or less than the anticipated 80 metre column, (ie, 100m or 60m), but a difference of 68 Metres seems very odd. 20-30 years ago you could get away with a mistake like that with the tech back then.
I've looked at the seismic a few times during and more after preliminary results, and to me seems bang on. Yes I'm no O&G expert, but the presentation is made simply for investors to be able to translate into simple terms.
CVN, have said, (via interview, not RNS), that they will be walking away if not commercial success to their degree. As I've said They have other other assets to develop and are not generating any cash atm.
Question is now why the discrepancy in column length... faulty imaging sensor? or incorrect readings? All we know is the data is still being assessed here. Alongside this is the other two assets and where we are with those.
