Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
No RNS from Monocor so I presume they are still holding all of their 350 million placing
I think both TRP and GBP will have a bit of a run up to the spuds dues to take place in around four weeks time in Namibia:
Meanwhile off shore Namibia, long seen as a potential new source of oil, has been hampered by a lack of exploration to firm up the extent of its reserves. Its off shore geology is similar to Brazil, which has seen a boom in oil exploration.
Gas has already been discovered off shore Namibia by Chevron in 1974. Since then, various operators, including Shell and Tullow Oil, have drilled a further seven appraisal wells on the Kudu field before withdrawing from the concession after failing to secure a commercial outlet for the gas. The field is estimated to contain resources of 750–2,300 Bscfg. Oil was found in May 2017 at the Wingat-1 well in the Walvis Basin, drilled by Brazil’s HRT, but not in commercial volumes
The Venus-1 exploration well in Block 2913B in the far south, operated by Total Energies is expected to spud in December 2021, and will target a large, DHI-supported, basin floor fan system of Albian age
Shell’s Namibia Graff -1 well will also spud in the same timeframe and targets a Late Aptian/Albian sandy turbidite channel system.
Ambitions for the off shore are now high with investors and explorers waiting to hear the results of these new wells with bated breath. Should a major find in 2022 be made to confirm this area as a major new oil and gas hub, other major oil companies will no doubt enter the fray, and some will also look further south to the Southern Orange Basin.

The Drill ships
Venus-1: MAERSK VOYAGER
Has returned to port at Luanda, Angola following drilling the Ondjaba-1 well in 3,628 metres of water
Current location: https://www.shiplocation.com/vessels/MAERSK-VOYAGER/MARINE-TRAFFIC/9633575
Presumably next stop Namibia?
Graff-1:Valaris DS-10 aka ENSCO DS-10
Can't find it on marine traffic sites I use - anyone else know where it is?
Been in since pre-COVID!
Not sure if this has been posted here already but this if from todays ECO RNS.
Looks like Venus-1 about to spud which is good news for our Namibian assets!
"The Company continues to monitor and assess opportunities, both technical and corporate, particularly with the upcoming drilling activity in the region. Two high impact deepwater wells are anticipated to spud in southern Namibia in Q4 2021: TotalEnergies Venus-1 well, using the Maersk Venturer, and Shell Namibia's Graff-1 well, using the Valaris DS-10.
Colin Kinley added:
"In the near term, we look forward to the drilling campaigns planned in Q4 at Venus-1 and Graff-1. TotalEnergies, Shell and ExxonMobil rank amongst the leading oil finders in the world, and their activity in the area is indicative of how the understanding of prospects in Namibia is gaining maturity. Where did you get the information on Monecor?
I know Novum Securities Limited hold 16% of this company following the raise of £1.5 in August at 0.425p, but was not aware Monecor had a big stake as well.
As far as I can see Novum have not sold any of their shares yet. As they hold over 3% they have to notify the market via an RNS each time they offload any of their shares, until that figure is below 3%.
Novum Securities Limited hold 16% of this company following the raise of £1.5 in August at 0.425p, so I think that this will be the upper limit of the share price for now, as they seek to sell those shares back into the market.
Who are they and where do they post their nuggets of information?

I guess this guy should know...
Oliversydney - Thanks for that.

Hi Oliversydney,
Just back looking at this one after some time away.
Why do you think they will sell their holding? Have they announced that this is their intention, or do your think this because they sold a lot of TRP recently?
Cheers,
BlackBat
Will be interested to see if there is a large after hours buy...
Seeing incredible volume!
A few weeks ago the average volume was not even £500!
I was surprised to hear him say:
We are in talks regarding a farm in for our Namibian assets - or words that effect.
This is remarkable but I guess may be driven by the fact that Venus One is about to spud and people want to get in before the results.
So my overall takeaway from this is that we are looking at farmin for Cameroon by mid August at the latest, and that we could hear about a farm in for South Africa and Namibia at any time.
Hopefully this lot will put a rocket under the share price!
About 500,000 share per trade - reasonable.
Fingers crossed we have had the bottom and now ,assuming we get some good news soon, we're on the way up!
Why tell everybody you are accumulating - unless it is all part of a pump 'n dump exercise?
Actually, farm in news for the South African assets could (especially with the rising POO) come at anytime.
Fingers crossed!
https://www.businessinsider.co.za/total-halts-additional-drilling-around-sas-brulpadda-and-luiperd-gas-deposits-2021-4
...but on re-reading it, it looks like Total is intending to concentrate on the Brulpadda and Luiperd deposits, rather than go looking for more oil in the same area.
The significance to TRP is that it has shared rights to an area close to the above (with New Age), and there is hope another player will farm into it.
So we have three possible boosts to the SP:
Thali in Cameroon
South African Assets
News from Venus-1
The way things are going, it looks like news from Venus-1 is the most likely occur first, hopefully by end of Q3 2021.
