Sounds great but I had a lot of shares in Kaz a FT100 large copper miner, which did very well, but the Gov of Kazakhstan did some deal and Russia ended up taking over the mine. All shareholders were paid off, but with BP and Rosneft anything too close to Russians to me is concerning. But gas is where it's at now.

Unsure how the costs would make out IF individuals, most through claims companies, each filed individual claims though, rather than funding more but with lesser costs involved for banks. All depends on the numbers I guess, but with claim companies making it all sound, so easy, I guess the take up will be very high whatever.

Surely some of you, likely don't wish to admit it, have put in a claim or more?

Don't fret over the speed of an RNS it is the content that matters, and a few day sooner or later to then 'cry' but it's illegal, they can't do that, we should get our own lawyer etc etc won't matter. I guess CBG is awaiting the larger banks like Lloyds decision, but good luck with that, as with the PPI Lloyds CEO was first to roll over, as like I say, it is in the interests of the CEO to do so, think bank taxes, think bonuses, and all move in the same company as HMG.

The shareholders will be thrown to the wolves imo. Hope not, but seen it before and the PPI was full of flaws too, made NO difference.

I guess Lloyds will be the first to roll over and accept the FCA, DCA terms without challenging them. Then the sheep will all follow. Mustn't upset the hand that holds out the carrot or stick I guess.

HMG needs that DCA cash to be squandered to keep tills pinging a short while longer, and to gain much needed support for funding the feckless at election time. So a given despite much of it being flawed, ne'er mind, tis only greedy bank shareholders funding the outstretched victims hands, despite it being non of our doing, again.

Let's hope the President doesn't back down now, as the world, not least China, Russia are watching, and any weakness now will be exploited by greater powers than Iran should any be witnessed.

Gingy, perhaps the answer he, not I would give is that he hasn't lost total face, in the knowledge that the Iranian leadership has had its key people taken out, it has a massive part of it's income gone for years, and that the Iranians will not be 'gaining' from this war as they have the cost of trying to rebuild whilst the US has oil, has had no damage, will make money from oil, likely more so, the President will be sleeping in a luxury mansion, safe, secure, full heated pool, drive large cars, fly wherever he wants, watching the dollar become a key investment for the world as the rest of society pays the price for his war.

Also few other countries will wish to 'mess' with the US, after years of the West perceived as weak, the worm has finally turned.

The alternative is to lose one of his faces, be jeered at, not feared by the world, including his own people and so called once allies, but after bringing a whole country to drought, to death and disease the jeering may be very hollow compared to the fear for all of us.

Such is what happens in war, and a tough enemy requires a firm hand once provoked. President Trump knows the Chinese and Russians are watching closely too, looking for signs of weakness.

Seems to me by watching normally 'at risk' shares such as financials, that people are expecting a backdown from the President, and the reason BP is not dropping as much as would be expected is because this oil disruption won't be solved quickly.

But I don't trust the markets and expect the unexpected, so whilst people hurry to fill isa's etc raising stocks due to more buying pressure, I feel it may be wise to wait and see, for even IF and a big IF, some sort of agreement is reached, the fall out for us all will not even begin to be felt to its max yet.

My predict will be for President Trump to be assassinated either by insiders or some religious nut, and he alone, as was Hitler will be blamed for it all, with his party and the US, throwing his carcase metaphorically, under a greyhound bus to attempt to 'appease' the Iranian's and then, unfortunately the US will put in place a ultra apologetic weak leader to attempt to make good the damage, as far is possible.

Hopefully I am wrong, but feel that nothing less will now appease the Iranians, so that or keep bombing and attempt to break them which will be costly, unless even more brutal means are used with the risk of starting WW3.

IMO Trump should have just been content with killing high command, and bombing as best is possible the suspected nuke producing sites. Left and said we will be back as soon as we think you are attempting to restart your nuclear dream. Too late now though, oh and best mine the straits before leaving as otherwise if a toll is imposed by Iran then they will use income to buy more weaponry with the levy. Doubt they will be paying extra tax credits for more than two children from such, they are not that stupid.

I see many of our prison delights create 'prison palm' by using boiling water and sugar so it sticks to the faces of the prison officers or other victims.

A world full of delightful people now, odd that a few years ago prison crimes consisted of a few slates being removed from Parkhurst (And a tin of pineapple chunks in 'Porridge'). Better quality of prisoners then or nail sick slates I guess.

So what will tomz bring for Lloyds, will we all wish we had sold the lot last week, will BP shares sink or fly, being my top holdings bound to be disappointed whatever, but holding way more here would prefer these to rise.

... is great for making lawyers wealthy and satisfying for the victor of righteousness when their view is upheld, but when companies are offered an immoral, or even a legally flawed more cost effective way out of the mire that holds them fast until released, then it may well be in their interests to grumble and pay, knowing that the fight for right may not be worth it.

As I say the Government will get what it wants, not the shareholders. Unless the banks present a untied front and stance on this then I fear that the larger banks such as Lloyds will do what HMG wants and not its share holders, for reasons given before.

I hope I am wrong, but I am wise enough to know that despite often compelling cases for a Jury to decide, it is only the lawyers and solicitors who always gain, or HMG in this case. Poor funded, great for votes, high street briefly gaining from such, and only bank shareholders not the top board and CEO's effected.

The world if one hadn't noticed is corrupt and to place trust in the law where the gains for HMG are great and the victims can afford to loss whilst boosting businesses will be too tempting imo for HMG to let go. The carrot with the threat of the stick reappearing for big bank CEO's may well be paramount in their decision to accept, if I were them and not just a shareholder, wouldn't you?

And I guess that is why my XL Cadbury Easter egg was smaller than usual and was a flatter shape, like a squashed egg, to presumably cut down on the chocy used and packaging.

Never sold any BP, and maybe for the good, but never sold any Lloyds and maybe for the bad IF President Trump lays waste to the larger public water and energy supplies, but he has little to lose other than one of his faces, so that decision will dictate which share is best rid of or held for short term anyway.

Stanb, I think President Trump ought to drop radio controlled mines into the strait so that the USA has equal 'say' in what can leave and what doesn't, not just Iran calling the shots. President Trump is left with little choice now and needs to do as he suggested, and destroy everything feasible before leaving, and just tweet, 'Once you rebuild, and we have a hint of evidence that nuclear material is perhaps being processed once more, we will be back.' That way no face lost nor risking too many US lives and the choice of whether to proceed with the nuclear dream v a wrecked country is up to the Iranians to consider.

Sadly the next POTUS will likely pay to rebuild Iran, as they try in vain to appease and overdo such to try to make up for Mr T's wise choice to go in, but hopeless plan to stay after taking out leaders and bombing the nuclear site as far as is feasible in deep hidden bunkers.

I guess the UK will end up with hundreds of thousands more costly mouths to feed, treat the physically and mental damaged to add to the massively growing PiPs online claims, then pay to educate and fund subsidised housing for eternity after the dear old BEEB shows harrowing images to create guilt and justify hardships for us all to then fund an even worse off people than ourselves. Thus it ever was. Still, should there be another WW with Russia etc, I am sure they will all be first to sign up to fight for blighty.....Won't they?

Interesting to see what the POTUS does for the shares, will we wish we had sold all BP, if he wastes the place and walks away, will oil remain high for months or will it return as oil is pumped like never before. Will the carnage drop the markets as Iran retaliates on close neighbours or will the fact that the US is okay for oil not create the harm suggested to equities. Will the west now reinvest heavily into nuke, or green energy or just go back to buying oil and gas IF this latest settles if Trump is shot or removed by others or even his own people and the Iranians are appeased eventually by the usual weak leaders?

Lots of unknowns but one thing President Trump will be talked about for decades.

Might be your last one for a while should a greater world war ensue.
