So lets talk $$$$$$$$$$26 Nov 2020 10:01
Hi all,
Just trying to understand the process etc...
So reading page 8 of the Summary, does this mean that we put 6m tonnes of ore annually into the crusher. This ore goes through the process in the flowchart on page 5. We end up a nickel concentrate "cake" and a copper concentrate "cake". I get that bit.
Page 8 seems to suggest we end up with 368,400 DMT (?dry metric tonnes?) of nickel concentrate (up from 358,000 DMT as per PFS) AND 30,000 DMT of copper concentrate (nothing in the PFS). To be honest, I do not understand the calculations in the first table on page 8 that seems to show where these two amounts of DMT is calculated. Does anyone understand this, just for curiosity?
The next bit, I do not fully understand how the toll smelting works. If anyone can explain the process and how the numbers on page 8 work then much appreciated. However, page 8 states we end up with annual payable nickel of 27,124 tonnes of nickel (plus a bit of platinum and palladium) and 6,704 of copper (plus a bit of gold and palladium. Are these tonnes of nickel and copper.
So does this mean as todays nickel price of approx $16,000 per tonne, revenue would be 27,124t times $16,000 equals $433m per annual. In addition, does this mean at todays copper price of approx $7,200 per tonne, revenue would be 6,704t times $7,200 equals $48m per annum. So does this mean a combined nickel and copper gross annual revenue (based upon todays pricing) of approx $481m ????
I appreciate we may forward sell some of the nickel and probably the copper to receive some $ up front. Also, we probably will have a JV partner with who the revenue will be split. But I am just trying to see where all this could possibly lead to.
Any thoughts anyone???
