to me, it doesn't sit right when dismissing it as a pre-text for city positioning and the context for director remumeration and awards (which those well positioned would not vote down - if it came to it).

Can our BOD do anything? and if not, should they be rewarded for beign so bound?

on one hand we have a highly remunerated bunch of executives that travel wide and far using stock phrases like "third rig" and "ocean of oil" and write repeatedly about the paper "value" added by all their dealing - all the while they are partially embroiled in appeasing the indigenious population, majorly impedent in terms of imminent action on farmed out blocks, or are wholly beholden to consent from our govermental overlords. just because they can point to others in each case as an excuse for their alledged failings that does entitle them to reward themselves so handsomely.
