I`m normally pessimistic about placings as its normally a chance to rob PI`s of Sp value and give your mates in the City a chance for half price shares , when we get excluded. (It would be great if PI`s (current shareholders only) were offered first as we`ve had the balls to stump up first.) However in this case the key is that the price is only discounted by a small amount not the usual giveaway. So it might be safe to assume the following; the SP floor is 1.6, which is`nt far off what it is now, meaning there is far more upside than downside here,
When the company went to offer the shares via the broker the two questions to be asked are what do you want the money for ? Answer- more drilling. Secondly how successful is this likely to be if you want me to buy a £1million worth of shares at a slightly discounted price, well we think it will be worth your while, yes ok show me some proof , ok I`ve seen the proof, alright then I believe you, here`s the money.
Now of course this is`nt all foolproof but more realistic than someone buying the shares on a punt. In fact if it was more of a punt they`d be having to giveaway the shares at half price.
You can draw your own conclusions from the above but I think two things , its pretty positive and just as importantly updates on the various things are due soon, which when I invest is extremely important , I don`t want dead shares in my portfolio hanging around for years waiting on news and this ain`t one of them.
Good news on a few fronts hopefully coming up.
