Genedrive (GB:GDR) has released an update:

Peel Hunt LLP has altered its stake in biotech firm Genedrive PLC, crossing a threshold on June 6, 2024, that changed their total voting rights to 19.877435%, as announced on June 7, 2024. This represents a slight decrease from their previous notification, indicating a dynamic shift in the company’s shareholder structure which could interest investors tracking changes in company ownership.

Result of the Open Offer

The Company received valid acceptances for 135,177,430 Open Offer Shares which is slightly less than the 143,141,481 Open Offer Shares that were offered to Qualifying Shareholders. As a result, all subscriptions by Qualifying Shareholders will be met in full. The level of take-up represents 94.4 per cent. and the Board appreciates this strong support from the Company's existing shareholders.

They will not issue you your shares until they have taken your money - Nothing to be concerned about !!

A new manifesto from the Stroke Association says stroke will cost the UK about £43bn this year, with 100,000 new stroke hospital admissions a year. This is projected to rise to 151,000 admissions by 2035 – the equivalent of 414 a day.

For those that suffer from ischaemic stroke (IS) or transient ischaemic attack (TIA), CYP2C19 genotype testing should be used to assess if clopidogrel is a suitable antiplatelet.

The Stroke Association estimates that the annual cost of stroke to the NHS could climb to OVER £10 BILLION by 2035.

More statistics about the cost of stroke:

•The average cost of health and social care per patient after 5 years is £46,039

•Costs increase with age and stroke severity

•Only 6% of patients were in full time work 6 months after a stroke

•£15 million of the antiplatelet clopidogrel was prescribed in 2022

Stroke has been named a national priority as part of the NHS long term plan released in 2019.

People could be offered a genetic test in the immediate period after having a stroke to help identify the most suitable treatment to reduce their risk of further strokes.

A second consultation on recommendations that clinicians should offer CYP2C19 genotype testing when considering treatment with clopidogrel after an ischaemic stroke or Transient Ischaemic Attack (a “mini stroke”) has begun today, Wednesday 3 April 2024.

NICE currently recommends clopidogrel as a treatment option for people at risk of a secondary stroke. For some people with certain variations in a gene called CYP2C19 other treatments could work better. The genotype test would identify people who have the gene variants so they can be offered an alternative treatment.

The draft guidance recommends testing only for people who have very recently had a stroke or TIA. This is because the risk of another event is higher at this time and therefore so is the potential benefit of testing. As the risk of a recurrent stroke or a “mini stroke” reduces over time, so does the benefit of testing.

For this reason, those people already taking clopidogrel will not be offered retrospective testing.

People who are currently taking clopidogrel should continue with the treatment until they and their NHS clinician consider it appropriate to stop.

Laboratory-based CYP2C19 genotype testing was the committee’s preferred option followed by the Genedrive CYP2C19 ID Kit point-of-care test. If neither of the first two options are available, the Genomadix Cube point-of-care test can be used.

NICE concluded that Our POC CYP2C19 Test is superior to the Genomadix Cube POC !!

The question asked was '' has there been any discussions about taking the Company Private'' and the voice of the person asking the question turned to a laugh, and said ''he was not sure that James would be able to answer, but he would read it out anyway'', and James Cheek clearly smiled, and clearly looked surprised at such a question, and then said ''that's an interesting question, lets just say its not something I would want to comment on, followed by its not something I want to discuss''.

James Cheek was Not asked the question again, as you stated, and he did not just say ''No Comment'' as you have stated - Your recollection of the question and the way you say it was answered is very biased to the negative? - Where as the reality is completely different !!
