RE: response from HL30 Jan 2023 20:08
The limited and delayed advanced weapons did have the desired effect, the Russian side withdrew, unfortunately only to defensive positions. From there it is an end game. Under any rational military manoeuvre the generals would have pulled back to Russia to stop what is a plain slaughter of young Russians. Russia lost this war a while ago but it Putin continues to try and wrangle some sort of victory at the cost of tens of thousands of lives. The west has stepped up some new arms a notch or two and air defenses. Logic dictates the battlefield generals know there is no canch of holding territory and the west will simply keep notching up the supply and technology. Aircraft are back on the table. It should have ended, but as is the way of brutal dictatorships, there is too much fear to take the steps to pull out. But as the people in China recently proved, even in the most autocratic system, when enough is enough that fear is overcome.
I no longer need to mention the war because people here stopped posting nonsense about Russian supremacy and dominance. It eventually dawned on those people, Russia has been defeated. Just the form of end game now.
