Then all the Guinness-soaked current and ex BT engineers who follow the leader like sheep. Funny old game football :)

As a betting man, I'm betting that the BT financial announcement on Thursday will indicate that the rot in slowing on the connection loss front. The denial a couple of weeks back (by the bird Erik said was a looker) was a bluff. Should see a rise to £2. But then again, I'm a betting man. Always have been. Always will be. LOL

Those were the days Erik. I remember them well. The things that came out of Martlesham were truly amazing. BT used to employ 3000 of the brightest minds in the country there. All given away or lost in the mist of time, thanks to visionless management and continual government interference. Truth is BT still thinks of itself as a telco. Just another utility. Frightened of its own shadow. Shame. Really is. It's a bit like the UK itself. Once proud and strong. Now a shadow of its former self. People are afraid to say a word to each other, in fear of getting a knock the door from the old bill. Shame. Really is. We all know what needs to be done. BT needs urgent life-saving surgery. So does the UK and its people, who are viewed and treated doormats by the deep state.

Initial Virgin/Starlink rollout in the UK early in 2026 will support Messaging, Maps/location apps, and data-based calls (e.g., WhatsApp), but not pukka mobile voice calls. However that will follow sometime in 2026, they say.

Rival operators Vodafone are exploring partnerships with AST SpaceMobile, suggesting a new wave of satellite-to-mobile competition in Europe.

We were talking about Starlink just the other week Aus. Yet another opportunity that BT failed to take advantage of. Oh, sorry, I forgot. BT's woes are all down to shorters, the press, analysts, and Uncle Tom Cobbleigh. Anything an everyone, apart a spineless BoD and a greedy, grasping workforce - overpaid BT engineers among them. Funny old game football.

Larry, you could be thrown in jail for talking like that, or at the very least get a visit from the thought police. Reckon she'll hit ISAs, pension pots, and home sales (10%-15% of the profit you make) in November. That's what you get for voting Labour - a firm kick in the derriere, and a second one in the goolies for good measure. And don't you dare talk about small boats. So looks like the only good news we'll have is a bid fo BT from Mittal Bros and DT. Thank goodness for that.

Based on available data for BT Group plc (LSE: BT.A), a £1,000 investment 10 years ago (mid-October 2015) with dividends reinvested would have a total nominal value of approximately £621 as of October 17, 2025. This represents a total return of -37.9% over the period (or an annualised return of about -4.5%). Amazing how you continue to buck the trend with BT. Is the same true with your other major investments - Lloyds and Vodafone?

Your faith in BT, like mine, was misplaced. Why not admit it? I don't understand your logic. You say exchange closure will be a money saver. Yes. But not until 2031 at the earliest. That's 6 years away. At this rate of line losses, BT will be in even heavier debt by then. This is why a bid and a sell off of Openreach are so urgent. Futures mean nothing until they become reality.

When you get the deputy CEO of Openreach openly announcing that they don't know when the rot will stop, BT is looking at a full-blown disaster. All retail investors can hope for now is a bid and fast hiving off of Openreach. No mystical futures, like the closure of telephone exchanges and the removal l of copper cable from the ground, will protect the company now, much as some would like to think it will. To paraphrase Roy Orbison: "Setting stars when they die leave their message to the sky. Your shareholders don't love you anymore. It's over. It's over. It's over." Question. What do you sell when you've sold most of the family silver? Answer : Openreach.

With respect to you, you've been praising BT for years, year-in, year-out. It's always futures. Never now. I've been predicting the opposite, year-in, year-out. We'll soon see who is correct. A bid won't make BT weaker. It will release massive shareholder value, and create a new and vibrant networking reality for the UK. I believe the next budget will ensure the detritus hits the fan, at which point DT will step in and be the kingmaker for Mittal Bros. Best Christmas present for all of us in my view.
