UK trader it's a relatively new BOD, so not sure how you can judge their past performance. But you certainly have a "bias", as you put it.

Transfer to a new company gives the government an excuse to love us onto the new code.

However, what the government will also realise is that Kod, with Chinese support won't just roll over. My reading of a fair amount of literature over the weekend is that the Mali government are quite possibly in breach of international law as by moving Kod to the new code and thereby limiting the financial benefit to Kod to costs up to feasibility study, Kod will be materially disadvantaged.

My best guess is that we will move to the 23 code but the government will undertake to limit any subsequent share purchase and any tax advantages will be honoured.

In any event the article states they are waiting for Christmas trading before taking any decision. Although this type of speculation is pretty much how the Top Shop sale started.

By Christmas we should see the latest accounts for the sub brands I think.

My view is the same as I've been saying for many months. Spin off a share of Debenhams with Frasers and put it back in bricks and mortar. Then, if possible, sell off the Arcadia brands, although they won't be worth much.

I can't see how you can sell off Boohooman as it's too intrinsically linked to Boohoo.

My personal view is that Debenhams, if offered on the open market, is worth £200m

Depends how they structure a deal BF and which brands.

Personally I don't see any form of total break up happening.

But spinning off shares in a couple of brands and maybe disposing of the labels would be a decent idea.

I'd guess the sum of parts ATM is north of a billion, so it should unlock considerable value for shareholders and let management focus more on a smaller number of brands

My personal view is that, if Christmas trading is good, then Debenhams will be worth in excess of £200m by itself.
