Hi culpepper the funny thing is when Shaun was asked about a buyout for our 30% on HAV, he said the figure would have to be eye watering.
At that time I think our mcap was between £700-£800m now what is eye watering, for me 5 times that is, but for a realistic estimate 3 times, that’s £2-£2.5b.
At that time we was not in as a good position as we are now, with the banks already lined up to finance the 2mta mining plan and willing to up it if needed!
We have low outgoings compared to newmont’s in the HAV/Telfer agreement, so hopefully we can come to a good deal with newmont including royalties, because it will be hard to buy the 70% and pay for Telfer as well!
Other companies looking in would it be worthwhile for them?
Who knows!
But remember if they stonewall we can buy them out and if ours is the only offer!
Could be interesting!
All the best Ben
