RE: Buyback update13 Jun 2025 13:23
72 Billion shares in circulation 2017 at its peak.
£2B buyback in 2022 Started Feb 2022, Completed Oct 11th 2022, 4.5 Billion shares purchased.
£2B buyback in 2023 Started Feb 23rd 2023, Concluded August 25th 2023, 4.3Billion Shares purchased.
£2B buyback in 2024. Started Feb 23rd 2024, Concluded Nov 13th 2024 3.7Billion Shares purchased
Checking various search engines... Seems there was 60.6Billion shares at this point.
£1.7B buyback for 2025. Started Feb 21st 2025, currently ongoing 900m so far. Maybe another 1.1b left this year.
On that lloyds table £1.8b, £2.7b, £2.8b possible next few years buy back amounts... could be down to 50B shares in circulation.
Seems like Mr Nunn is on the war path to reduce number of shares in circulation, then i noticed .... Nunn's fixed income for 2024 was pegged at £2.5m, with Chalmers' at £1.6m. However, Nunn's total take-home pay amounted to £5.6m, marking a 53% increase from 2023. This surge was attributed to long-term incentive rewards accrued over previous years linked to the share price, with an additional £2m awarded for the bank's performance last year.
Think im talking myself into keeping hold. Just a quick question guys... the amount of shares purchased and then disposed off didnt quite seem to add up, just ball park figures. Is there a link ouot there to any table showing if any new shares were issued over the last few years?
Cheers.
Ben.
