Will have to sell our shares or will we get shares in Sabadell. early days i know but I for one do not want to have shares listed on an exchange in another country
It my understanding that deals like this are done on a ratio basis to enable things to go ahead taking account of movement in share price but not scuppering the deal.
Good deal for Rose. **** for shareholders. Glad when I got out with my £12 profit. Today low rent food retailers. Tomorrow low rent department stores. If you have ever been to Germany their retail offer is really poor across all sectors unless you are in a really major city. Be warned if this continues we can all expect crap quality in all retail areas in the years ahead.
Nothing else to say really. Wonder how long it will take for this to be the only post on here. Happy New Year (for 2015) just in case there are no posts for the rest of the year. Lol.
This is just a fun punt for me £150 invested (yesterday morning - shucks!!). Don't expect too much but just one of the fun ones to ride every now and again knowing that amount invested will not be missed too much if it goes T*ts up. Fun is seeing how much my small investment could make (or not). Also goes with my view of AIM and LSE - the more chat there is the greater chance of this going up. Trick is to spot when chat slows and the price starts to tank again. Obviously a theory that is not working in this instance. Enjoy the journey folks - may you end up with that Ferrari you always wanted or even just a nice meal out - never know might even be able to take the wife along as well. New years resolution to only post positive vibes on LSE. Happy New Year to one and All.
Share gets touted in the press and it drops.
My portfolio has taken a real hammering over the last week. The one ray of sunshine is Wincanton whose price has remained steady (ish). A little ray of sunshine. GLA invested here.
Can anyone see a dividend being announced in the near future (e.g. 12/18 months). I do recall somewhere that Wincanton had accrued debts prior to the credit crunch but was being well regarded in the way that it had managed them. I also recall, I think, that it was stated that debt reduction was taking a priority over returns to shareholders. Just wondered if my recall is correct and what other might think?
Can always tell a good share by using LSE. It's generally the one with few comments that just goes below the radar then booms away. Just like this baby will.
Fundamentals look solid. Currently a bit below its 12 month high and well below it's all timer high. Dividend return is good. But what gets it for me is that it kept paying a dividend in the downturn when many companies stopped theirs - just because they could get away with it. that speaks volumes to me about the management and that is why I am pleased to be in here. Suits my current strategy of Good dividend return with the possibility of capital growth. A definite long term hold for me.
I tend to invest on gut instinct as well as research and I just have an inkling that Beales could benefit from older spend as the economy gets better. Many of the stores are in small market towns that are just big enough to serve the needs of pensioners who may not want to travel to a nearby larger town. That's what my gut tells me - but it also told me to bet on Uruguy to win the world cup!!!!!!
VMP new investment strategy ............. buy COMS
More buys than sells over the last few weeks with no reason behind it as far as I can see. Anyone any ideas why?
Should read "BIG BOYS" and LWRF
If the bid boys are going to move into the area that JSJS have spent years developing will there still be room for the minnows or will they be squeezed out by the Mega Nerds?
Could someone let me know know what VMP actually does. I know that the guy from COMS is involved in it but some idea of what direction they are looking to take would be helpful. This question is in fact part of my research so no DYOR responses would be gud.
Agree with you both. And just to be gender neutral I should also say Hi Ladies as well - if that does not sound too much like Leslie Phillips!!
Quiet here but assume it will pick up in time. Does make you wonder if posters on some of the Bulletin Boards on this site do not actually own shares in the company they are commenting on. Just a guess since those who did not hold JSJS may not be aware of the change in name yet. GLA
I am not referring to the workers in the business who have clearly used their skill to do something really incredible to help in the search. I am referring to the blood sucking leaches who may see this as chance to make money on a company who you would really have to know about before it hit the media should the share price rise just because of such a sad event.
... it just shows what a load of BAS***DS will do to make money.
