SF... Let's say a big buyer or buyers turned up on Monday morning with say several £m he/she/it wanted to invest in BMN at a given price.. Say in the 18 to 20p range. Where are they going to get the shares from and how?
If BMN lists on the JSE is there a likely hood they might issue new shares for the listing... If so would a big investor wait until then.
If they move to the FTSE again is there any likely hood they might issue new shares or perhaps a friendly existing might agree to sell some.
Without new shares, they will have to either force the price down to get the shares needed or quietly buy in itsey bitsey lots until they can fill the order(s) .
There are always buyers and sellers but right now trading days have only been in the very low millions.

Plus they want to implement additional, larger electrolyte rental contracts in 2020...I wonder how far along these might be in negotiations and will come to fruition as part of the Avalon/Redt deal.. RedT certainly has some larger contracts on the books just waiting for some cash injection to get them though the door.

Kevgrimmley... I suspect if the boys in the backroom feel they can force a spike or encourage a rise to make money on same they will. Right now they have no incentive to do so, such as warrant or findraising shares to sell on. They are making money by keeping us bobbing along and encouraging a few traders, shorter etc... When they think they can take them out they will...but they will need a good reason to force us up like Eskom or other big orders.

I suspect here in the West they are more worried about having cv entering the general population at a time when regular seasonal flu is in full swing.. That's when it could get scary..

Slightly more significant than your quote as the battery side of the business should generate several times more income per kgV than sales to steel industry plus the battery market will open up other income streams too.
And more importantly he seems to becognising the significance of the battery business as far as BMN is concerned.
Finally the battery side of the business is not yet priced into his broker note SP so how much on top of 80 odd does huge represent...

And Chinese Govt have announced today even more restrictions.

Perhaps not such a big ask to get permits if chemical production already in place plus adding additional jobs etc. It's obviously in the plan as and when needed.

Now I know BMN have said their V P is targetting battery mfrs.. But... Could they, would they invest in a panel mfr.. The one they are using perhaps. It could be a way of putting together a financed package. One stop shopping...how great would that be for miners. BMN/BE PROVIDES EVERYTHING from locally sourced Che P Vanadium for their Vanadium electrolyte to locally assembled batteries to panels to installation to finance/leasing and overall project management?. Just sit back customer and write the deposit cheque...
I suspect the penny has just dropped with Meyer especially if someone gave him the costs v income from such a package deal vs sales of V to the steel industry.

Haha...as our broker is he inside. If so he may have been given some sort of interesting insight which has mad him that bit more positive on the battery front. Hopefully he will continue to talk 'huge' to his investor dinner guests tonight.

Pb940 JM has never used the word huge when talking about BMNs battery side of the business. I suspect he's had his eyes opened this trip and hopefully he's also seen a few more numbers.

I guess further capacity implies extra to ELIDZ but does it mean after ELIDZ is up and Running or further capacity for the company as a whole?

BBN...once again, thank you for your very detailed posts. One thought I has re the JSE listing could the also be a bit of bsck scratching. FM and his colleagues must have close contacts within various key departments across many levels. As we know SA does still have exchange restrictions and many people are unable to invest in local businesses who only have listings outside SA... I'm sure you know where I'm coming at this point...

I got the strong feeling the interviewer doesn't get it. When you have a mining conference the press and attendees are basically mining focused and they don't seem to be able to grasp the whole battery storage narrative. These are get it out of the ground guys not sustainable new tech chappies. Yes, I'm generalising and yes it's just the feeling I get and yes it comes across as a dull uninformed interview on the part of the interviewer.
As far as what Fortune managed to tell us...absolutely brilliant and I think he's signalling Eskom will be good for BMN...
