Pier6...if you look at Toscafund Asset Management's shorting history..on three occasions with 3 different companies the are recorded reducing/increasing regularly but on 3 occasions they jump from around the 0.5% mark directly to 0%.

Pier6...good point and I thought that until I checked other companies on the same site and there are many examples where a short is seen to be closing on a regular basis and then it sticks right around the 0.5% mark. Many of these go back several years like 2017.
I find it had to believe a company would reduce their short on and then just stop and hold for up to 5 years...

BlackCat...if you're getting your info from Short Tracker they don't report shorts below 0.5%. There's a good chance Jupiter are already below this threshold based on some of the trading patterns since 3 March. They do however seem to record 0% holdings so I guess we just have to wait until then.

Not sure they are ready to offload Diagnostics just yet unless there's an extremely good deal to be had. It could still be a nice money earner for relatively little associated cost.

Key Affimer patent to be granted in China
Important step towards addressing the potentially large Chinese diagnostics and therapeutics markets
Avacta is pleased to announce that the principal patent protecting the Affimer technology has been accepted for grant in the People’s Republic of China. On issuance, this patent will extend coverage of Avacta’s intellectual property into another potentially large market for the Company; considering the therapeutic applications of Affimers alone, China now accounts for more than one fifth of the global therapeutic antibody market.

Counterparts to this patent have already been granted in the US, Europe and Japan.

The Affimer technology is based on a small protein that has been engineered to present a “sticky” surface that can be made to bind strongly and specifically to a target of interest such as another protein or virus. The way in which the Affimer has been engineered to give it the ability to bind a target is the core invention covered by Avacta’s intellectual property.

The Company is commercialising the Affimer technology through a licensing model to developers of diagnostic and research products, and is building a pipeline of Affimer drugs both in-house and with partners. Protection of the Company’s intellectual property in China is an important step in creating commercial partnering opportunities to address the Chinese diagnostic and biopharmaceutical markets.'

Trials have protocols and AS can't just give us a running commentary. We will get the information as and when he can give it in whatever format he can give it.

Red day globally today. Just got to ride it out. It really isn't the time for petty bickering. Less than 2 weeks ago millions of people just like you went about their daily lives just like you and they are now laying down their lives to try and get back what they had less then 2 weeks ago. Spend your time and efforts helping someone in need not on a BB throwing darts.

I'm holding and have decided to spend much more of my time with my family and friends now rather than reading and posting on here...what will be will be from an investment point of view. Results will be out end March early April and by then we may have an update on the new LFT with either a new antibody or second affimer and what the regulatory bodies think of it and it's cost reductions...plus there's the rest of the year for incoming news from all the other projects being worked on by Avacta and their Partners...

Guys you're blaming the shorters surely it's the brokers who lend out your shares who are to blame...but if you use a broker and agreed to their terms and conditions when opening up your trading account and it clearly says the broker may from time to time lend out shares then I guess the blame falls at our own door step..

Energyshares...most brokers have it in their small print...

There is a caveat however...the SP will also affect IIs at some point if the SP falls below their buy in price. That is why I said if there are potential new investors to be had from the 3 day roadshow they will most likely be waiting for the likes of Jupiter to clear.
Also a point to bear in mind...II's are not looking for huge annual % returns...they are more likely to accept above inflation numbers and accept that sometimes they may be in negative territory whereas PIs are in the main out for much higher returns. If you are genuinely a LTH then you will take the lows with the highs and have a good exit strategy in place and all being well have secured a nice return on your investment too.

The lender will be the likes of HL who lend your shares to shorters...as has been mentioned on here the lions share of holders are PIs...

Beinthelead...soft launch is still my guess...Covid gave Avacta the idea of using their affimer in a LFT...OK so it hasn't worked out as we all might have hoped but I still believe Avacta will continue down the affimer based LFT but will broaden the sphere of what viruses/ diseases it will detect...

Sorry when I said no you wouldn't..I should have ssid you should see both a sell and a buy but they will probable cone through at different times in the day and split into smaller parts so they might not be so obvious.
The fact we are seeing lots of unknows and reversals is an indication someone us working through a big deal in smaller bits.

Hunky..no you wouldn't..this is an example if a work thru...don't ask me how or why they do this but it might be to do with confusing algorithms. 150000 unknown (priced right on the mid point) this was immediately reversed with the same time stamp. Then the 150000 is put through in two parts both as buys again with same time stamp 145476 and 4524 but the straggle a 14699 sell.

Zoom0001...we've had two shorters driving the price down not II's wanting to buy in. I didn't say the SP would be driven down by half. Jupiter opened their short last year. The 3 day roadshow was just a few weeks ago. I used 0.55 as an average...if a broker took an order to buy £2m at the road show they would be buying shares above and below this price. The broker would be looking to get their own purchase average lower than that they would be on selling to the buyer.
At the end of the day, as I said all guessing games...the only one thing we know is Jupiter have reduced their short % and if they repeat their past closings they could close the short on Avacta completely too.

Mr. R...Let's say you're an II who attended the road show and you like the story but you want to strike as good a deal as you can...so you say to third party you'd be more than happy to invest £2m but it has to be at an overall average price of £0.55...what is the third party going to do? Take your order or tell you to take a hike? If they take the order how will they get you your £2m at an average of £0.55 if there are no new fundraising shares to be had fir example.
