Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Nice one JOE.!
Wasn’t expecting that news from that source.! Good news all the same.
Thanks mucksy for that very relevant information. That is quite remarkable. Such a tiny detail of the AFC system that would have been taken for granted. Almost impossible to plan ahead for that kind of increase, maybe some of the partners like BKGulf did see it coming and advised.
Thanks you.
Nice one drew. Could you shed some light on the SMR costs. The report suggests that each site would produce approximately 500megawatts, and cost approximately £1.8-2bn.
I assume 500Mw is per year, is the cost £1.8-2bn per year based on a set life-span including all construction, running, and fuel.? Or is £1.8-2bn the total cost, all included, for a set life-span.?
This seems to be the most direct cost comparative to a Hydrogen Fuel Cell Power Station to achieve the ‘same’ goal of on-demand ‘clean’, renewable energy. Just how clean nuclear is compared to H2 is a separate issue, comparative cost of on-demand power is relevant.
Looks like the govt is giving the green light to the Rolls-Royce designed SMR, small modular reactors, for consistent energy supply. It may take 8-10yrs to come on-line. Each one may cost approximately £2bn, compared to £20bn for a ‘full size’ nuclear reactor. The govt will support the projects financially, alongside private equity.
Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology is surely comparable to this concept.
Agree boon, and nothing wrong with govt supporting transition. The expense comparison of AEM.v.PEM, and 3x9.v.5x9, along with the ‘off-the-shelf’ components for AFC should position AFC very well.
and Charles does tend to mix with various Saudi influential people that vis-a-vis are not averse to show support.
Now that Charles is fully aware of AFC Energy, he must surely champion the cause.
Mr Bond shows Charles the Fuel Cell.
Thanks MrA, rekon they’ll crack it today.! …Imperial college presenting ‘poetry against climate-change’.!
maybe in the range, first step more likely 68p=£500mMc.
rising on decent volume, 1.5m, in first half hour.
(suggested suspension was completely wrong.!)
Nice one Garo.! The second link worked, V.interesting.
Thanks.
Interesting JCB buying H2, so looks like they plan to fuel H2 engines in heavy machinery. It also states they will be a supplier of H2, although it does not state what grades of H2 they have contracted for.
Through PHE info, their strategy is to provide premium grade H2 for vehicle use, so I assume most/all H2 engines require 5x9’s purity. On that basis, it might help AFC’s cause in the diesel gen replacement sector that will be the different 3x9’s and not directly competitive, more like complimentary to the construction industry zero-emissions target.
and just 18m shy of 20m traded volume.!
Clearly someone forgot to turn the rumour-mill on.!
No real relevance at the moment, only 250k volume.
not going to take this any further as I accept this is all mere ‘wild’ speculation. The last indicator I will be looking for will be Friday trading volume 20m+ …buy on rumour.!
Thanks Anne, good to get all views.
Nice one s’sport, it does seem quite strange that there is so little being shouted about COP by govt. Maybe because they really are inept and inadequate to tackle the pollution problem.? or …they really do hold the ace of trumps.!
