I work on projects with budgets in excess of the SEPCO buy-in cost even at 15p, loads of moving parts and commit to delivering within a time frame. Flexibility as to when I deliver is not an option, we agree a date and make sure we hit it. As for moving it twice, no chance. The SEPCO project has a binary outcome it’s not exactly complicated. I am confident of news this week.

I think SEPCO should know what their own internal requirements are and therefore how long it will take to fulfill them one way or another. Continuously moving goalposts just smacks of incompetence. If we were waiting for things outside of their control such as SML and PPA it would be different but we are not. It’s time for them to hit a deadline instead of being ‘flexible’.

Mike - are you saying it’s a highly flexible deadline just because it’s KIBO? Otherwise it shouldn’t be as it’s the second SEPCO deadline already. It’s time for all the players involved to start taking plans and deadlines more seriously. We need to get to a point where timescales actually mean something otherwise the project just becomes completely open-ended which is how it currently feels to most, hence the SP.

For all we know the GoT could be waiting on the SEPCO buy-in to show proof of (future) funding before the SML is issued. We may have this completely the wrong way round.

We are waiting in expectation not hope. 30/11/18 is by when SEPCO are expected to buy in. Roll on next week.

Not at all Dave. I genuinely am not trading so deramping. On the question of fault/responsibility. I have no doubt regarding the effort it integrity of LC. If the MCPP happens he will be a hero for sure. If it does not I struggle with the idea that it only the fault of the ToG. He is the CEO and I am invested partly because of his connections and nouse.

It’s pathetic. The SP is what it is (a disaster). By this time next week it will either be in a better place or a complete
write off as one way or another LC has to finally pull something out of the bag other than constant promises.

To be fair JD we don’t even know if the current tender process will be the ultimate process. It’s the third process so far this year. The government would surprise no one if they sacked the minister, dismantled Tanesco and started a whole new process. As you say though time will tell. As far as the MCPP is concerned this has to be the ‘last chance saloon’.

Do they JD? The current (I.e. this week's) tender process evidences nothing other than some officials within the government have something to do for a few weeks until they decide to scrap it and start something different. To this point the whole thing had been an absolute 100% farce, in the true meaning of the word.

That ADB has a finite amount of funds one would have thought there would be competition to attract them ahead of other projects and countries which might also want them. You certainly wouldn’t think that given the behaviour of the GoT.

No thanks Boffer. I am way past that. Just saying it how I think a lot of others also see it. It’s currwntly an absolute disaster but SEPCO buy-in will change things completely.

SEPCO buy-in next week equals happy days. No buy-in, for whatever reason will see a further hit to the SP which is why 2p is not attracting a mass of buyers. I.e. why buy now when the SP could be 1p in 10 days time? It’s make or break time regardless of what happens on any of the other projects in the short term. Everyone knows that which is why it’s quiet on all fronts.
