Would it be best to wait until the AISC is re-assessed in Q3 bearing in mind fuel and consumables costs will be high?

The dividend if converted into more shares will generate 8% a year. So can you get a better deal for the cash excluding the necessary costs?

Unbelievable the confusion over ex dividends!
Ex d/record date/payment date.....you only need to remember one thing.
If ex d is 25 August you are not entitled to the dividend if you buy the share on that day. Buy the share on ex dividend day you don't get the dividend.

It is a high probability that China will end up like Russia is today.
Strix opened a factory there to deliver higher (double) revenues.

So 3,076,923 shares not 30,769 shares or thereabouts.

We know that DEC produce 119,000 boepd but I also remember reading that it costs them under $7 to produce every barrel.

Duke didn't contact platforms re:placing. Obviously didn't want existing shareholders involved and expect you to buy another 16% (with costs) for holding parity.
Optimus is correct. I hold DEC giving +10%. I will be increasing this equity not Duke.

From 24 to 28 March (if that was the strike price period)
Highest 219.4p
Lowest 216.0p
Last day 216.0p

So average is 217.1p
(last day was the lowest price but I assume you include it twice as per terms).

Well, here are my thoughts. A straight forward capital/dividend return is not happening.
You are not obliged to tender and there is a meeting on 25 March 2022.
You can go for Option 1 which is the Strike Price Tender.
The SPT is derived from the highest/lowest/final share price divided by 3 during the last five days of trading to closing date (not sure when that is).
The other Options are for 1,3 & 5% extra on top of the SPT.
There could be a scale back.
Shares tendered above the strike price will not be satisfied.
There is a strike price maximum of £10 per share.

So maybe we all put in for £10 a share which will be bigger than the SPT, so the $500m then has to be given as a special dividend?

Ex dividend this month and paid 24.5p in March - interim and including a special dividend.
So at 500p last week, I reckon that's 9% full year return .

After 6 months, time enough to make a difference, the sp is 23.75p
