I think from the previous interviews that Stuart said the first acquisition would be done before Xmas, he has 9 trading days left to deliver. What's the confidence level that this will come to fruition? I'm thinking 50/50.

SAs - Shaun confirmed in the RNS on 11th August that he would release his own MRE in the December quarter following his frustration that Newcrest didn't bother to do an update from 2022 when they announced their results. It's been nearly 4 months since then and Newmont are now well established as the 70% majority JV partner. In the AGM Shaun confirmed that he would be discussing the MRE with Newmont (IMV getting their approval).

I'm still hopeful it comes out this month but wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed until February 2024 when I believe that Newmont will announce their strategic update following the takeover of Newcrest.

It's not his call, Newmont pull the strings. MMs know it and they can manipulate the SP until they are told a few days before it gets released so they can sort out the shorters, price etc ahead of a positive reaction to the MRE. This is how the game gets played IMHO.

Shaun said Scally results maybe next week or the week after. MRE unlikely until w/c 18th IMHO given he needs Newmont to sign it off (Keep JV team happy).

That means the MMs can do what they like over the next week or so without any concerns over new info.

Single figures now and drop will continue so their mates can buy in at lower rates until the news drops.

AIM was down for most of the day, you should still have been able to trade at certain times. Halifax is a pretty poor platform though and probably took longer to sort out.

Looks like the pullback was orchestrated by the MMs, don't think the trading justified the drop IMHO.
