Every now and again someone says, "Why can't IQE be like Arm and just charge a license fee. They would make much more profit without having the hardware costs." Well, it seems there's more in common between Aem's business model and IQE's in so far as Arm doesn't think it makes enough money either.

The below article outlines plans Arm is formulating to make more money out of their technology by asking their licensees to not sell product to OEMs that don't also have an agreement with Arm. If successfull could IQE look to do something similar?

The fall of the last few days is down to the market. The fall after the operations update and the surprise utilities interruption impact is down to pi55 poor communication. If market sentiment picks up it can easily drift back up over 9p. If, as Leon said in the interview, the disruption was actually good for JLP and he can show it on the 20th it might erase the loss from the update.

It's all very unceremonious. No reason given or even thanking him for his service. That's unnerving. We all know that contracts will grow slowly. Improving battery technology almost certainly moving away from the materials we use today will get there but these are research papers. There's a fall in orders for H1 2023 which hasn't been specifically guided and they don't state any change in guidance for FY23. So we'll have to wait and see how inventory rundown acceleration and return to growth in H223 actually plays out.

I honestly think it's because China has stockpiled resources in advance of reopening and now isn't reopening as strongly as the market anticipated combined with Powel being hawkish this week. The market is fearing recession.

As the RNA states - customer inventory rundown. Note, they do say it's been accelerated. Maybe it will clear more quickly than anticipated in the last update.

Very important the UK gets back into Horizon to save any vestigaes of research left in the country and that IQE involves itself all it can but those are long term projects. Wouldn't bear any fruit for IQE until well after the business cycle has turned around.
