Trouble is now that I really don't want to be involved with this lot if the bid is rejected.

Anyone reading this Forum for the first time seemingly wouldn't go anywhere near AVCT if they were starting out. So much negativity and calls for Alastair's head just like football fans after a club's heavy loss. I know we have had our concerns about him but he does seem to have a great team around him. How he expresses himself should never knock 10% off the SP after a seemingly excellent presentation in which he let others do most of the heavy lifting.

Keep the faith. Trust the team. Don't be deflected by the negative noise on here. All IMO, of course.

The previous deal was ok until BOD screwed it up. No wonder Doc, as a large holder, was incensed and he was treated appalingly by BOD as anyone who has listened to the tape of the AGM will know. Still he and his backers never had a chance so perhaps should have backed off.

BOD said that the EGM had delayed them doing a deal so let's all just hope for a quick deal, if not by Christmas then early in the New Year.

I hope your not holding up the met as a model police force jemgee. I can't think of any force worse.

BOD need to bear in mind that their primary duty is to act in the interests of all shareholders not just themselves. If they had done that when the previous deal was in the process of being tied up, we (and they) would not be in the mess that we're in.

So base-jumper you're happy with what's been going on at the company and how the directors conducted themselves during the latter stages of the Megasteel negotiations when, within a month, we were asked to accept that the value of our shares would reduce by 75%. BOD couldn't bring it home so why not have new directors who can.

Oh and by the way, the Cowboy is not in charge but simply another shareholder, albeit a relatively large and vocal one. He is not putting himself up for office , merely putting forward names of suitably qualified individuals who I hope will be voted in at the forthcoming EGM

I feel it is close now. The fact that they are pausing construction says it all IMO. Everything crossed that it happens soon.

Timster I don't think it was a standard AGM drop. The SP rose during the AGM and held throughout the Q&A. It was the banter after that screwed it and confirmation that real value wouldn't be obtained for some time plus cash would be needed.

They need to get it promoted liker Clear Blue which seems to pop up on every page. You can't find our one unless you specify a saliva test. Even then the price op up until you drill down a bit. It's early days and plenty of time for it to find its feet. SP at 12.00 is ridiculous considering the potential.

I would rather it wasn't as big and in Turkey. I'll see what the market makes of it before I take up the offer. HL have already messaged me so they're on the ball.

Large Placing of £60m to help part fund the acquisition, sweetened by a Retail offer, both at 275p. Will be interesting to see how the market reacts.

I also added this afternoon with a near 50% top up. Not a big stake but GGP is a coffee jar stock for me so I'll just tuck away and try and avoid checking the SP every hour (no chance). The value is there and plain to see and a close of 6.5p for a company with this much potential is an absolute joke but DYOR and GLA.

Nothing for me yet in HL. Bloody annoying as other dividends have been credited today but maybe, since this is the first from HVO, we might cut HL a bit of slack. Although, of course, others have been on the mark.

Somebody needs to remind Sunak & Hunt that the idea of a Windfall Tax is to, err, tax "Windfall" (i.e. super) profits. Plainly there are no "super' profits now so logic dictates that the tax should cease with tax on last period's profits. But we know logic doesn't come into it with Oil & Gas companies and we know Starmer will make it worse so the future is dire for companies with North Sea interests.

I though there might be a spike this morning and I sold my shares here & in SQZ this morning. What a bloody shame this all is.
