I just thought of sitting in the cinema looking at the 2 moons of Tattooine with Luke Skywalker . . . George Lucas might seem elderly now, but there was a sense when he and Spielberg started making films that the youngsters had got hold of the camera, and so the cinema might survive . . .

I reckon the dropping down of so many stocks and commodities today has spooked lots of new investors and caused them to jump off at a loss: they've been fleeced, and their small money is now in big pockets . . . I think this money flow from small and scared to big and rich is the main reason for today's silly stock market volatility. I hope I'm wrong.

Look at the colour of the Australian sky in the photo of the drill . . . must be exciting to get your wide-brimmed hat on, earplugs in and wait beside the drill to see what kind of iron ore it brings up.

I agree we seem to have gone from apocalyptic to boring . . . but I think there will be mega-stories to keep reporters collecting their pay cheques: China; the space race (with private money now adding interest); UFO shares, which are going stratospheric any time now . . .

PS gold, silver and bitcoin have all picked up since 1pm British time, which is when Joe Biden sat down, and Donald Trump scooted off to Florida. Bye Bye.

The change of US president today will have caused lots of cautious lifting off of money from the stock market, just for safety . . . once the change has happened, all the dosh will be put back where it was lifted from. I think we'll be fine tomorrow.
Anyway, I like the vibe here, I'm staying wherever we drop to!
