Rainbow Rare Earths Phalaborwa project shaping up to be one of the lowest cost producers globally. Watch the video here.
Hi GP et al. I'm not too sure why some trades disappear into the ether. ORM isn't the only one.
Glad to see that the MMs have finally reduced the spread!
Best of luck PAD. I'm still sitting tight. Certainly not selling any!!
Hi RC. My pleasure. It has provoked some excellent and inciteful posts.
Interesting that many of the losses in our group have been in (non crypto) mining stocks. Digging an expensive hole in the ground and searching for 'treasure' appears to be the quickest way of waving goodbye to investors' money.
That's horrendous with the EIS lock in. :(
Great post RC!
By biggest loss came from my broker (Daniel Stewart) who put me into a so called "no brainer" called Concordia International, or something like that. 100% wipe out and £20,000 down the drain! Some of their clients lost £100k. The guy was fired and Daniel Stewart went pop in early 2019. I haven't trusted a broker since and now make my own investment decisions - which include buying and selling registration plates (no AR60's just yet)!!!
My biggest % and monetary gains is in Haydale Graphene at just under 500% (1.6p to 7.5p) thankfully made good the Concordia loses. I've reduced the rest of my holdings (which are pretty mixed) in order to fund my ARB addiction!! First bought at 92p but now averaging at £2.05 after one top heavy purchase and two more on the recent dips. No share I've owned has excited me more than ARB. Really pleased to be on this journey with my fellow argonauts. :)
Totally agree with Pro4321. Identical position to me. Along with my IPO allocation I bought 52k in my ISA this morning at 13.25p. Now it's 'sit on the hands time' until the autumn at least. I'd be very surprised if the share price doesn't move up (with the expected dips) from this point on. imo of course! Good luck to all.
Hi andecc. Well done with your AIG. :)
Agreed. It's definitely not worth selling. Sod's law we do it and the good news will come - most likely the very next day!
Besides didn't someone mention the cash in bank value isn't too far of the market cap?! On that basis there is no point in selling. We have to trust that the Board can get this copper deal over the line, or find some other "excellent value enhancing opportunity"!
Hi andecc. The markets do not like uncertainty and that is what we have with ORM unfortunately. The SP is falling because there is no news. ORM's silence (lack of shareholder updates) has been deafening but as flundra points out, the delays could be due to them negotiating the best deal. That said, with copper prices having risen 25% to 30% since negotiations I'm not wholly convinced that ORM actually has the upperhand anymore - made even worse now by a falling share price where an offer of cash and shares won't be so attractive. They need to get the deal over the line or move on to other opportunities asap.
Thanks SHARE36 et al. I have been adding shares on every dip. My shareholding is now significant enough to warrant keeping a closer eye on what is going on!! Annoyed at myself for not having spotted ARB last year. Having done my research I can't find a company with more exciting prospects than ARB. Even though I joined late I'm delighted to be part of the journey!
Many thanks SHARE36. It was more the multi MM quotes I was looking for rather than just the spread as shown on LSA.
The names TheProfit mentions is exactly what I was looking for. It gives a far better indication on which way the share price is going. Thank you both. :)
Barclays Smart Investor haven't allocated either. They are blaming Primary Bid!
Morning all. Has anyone received their IPO allocation from Barclays yet? They appear to be the only broker not to have uploaded them onto customer accounts. I called them this morning. They are blaming Primary Bid which to be blunt I don't believe! Anyway, I have just bought more this morning in my ISA and happy with my purchase at the current level. Pretty certain MMa will be sweeping up the IPO shares for the next day or so. Then onwards and upwards. :)
Indeed it is!
Same here. I'm also happy to sit tight with my current holding. As and when the deal is announced I will look to add, even though I know I'll pay a premium for it above the current SP.
Totally agree flundra. At the end of the day it's about our faith and trust in the bod to grow the business and drive profitability. If I could be more certain I'd certainly top up my share holding once again.
By the way, it's refreshing to engage with such a friendly group on the ORM chat. :)
Good luck with your holding PAD. :) I just weighed up the risk reward for ORM and decided to put the money into other shares which by more luck than judgement have performed better. That said, if ORM can finally get the deal over the line then you will hopefully hit a home run. Since negotiations began in September 2020 copper has risen 25% to 30%. If I was the seller / licence holder and the buyer was dragging their feet like ORM have done (for whatever reason) then I'd be bringing the buyer back to the table for renegotiation or alternatively searching for another buyer. Having been involved in acquisitions myself, the longer these things go on the more chance there is of the deal falling through. As flundra has said, the company can proceed with a cash transaction without TA's approval. The terms were "up to $800k for an 80% stake in 2 licences". The funds are there to do it so why haven't they? If the Board are that confident they are onto a winner then just get the deal over the line asap with or without TA!! I suspect there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than the company is letting on!
Thanks Mordeccai. Barclays were definitely underprepared.
Good luck to you, and all CBX holders. ;)
Hi Mordeccai.
Many thanks for the response. :) This is really strange regarding Barclays Smart investor. My friend managed to buy 3 lots of CBX (totalling 33k shares) through them on Friday. If they were anti cannabinoids, surely they wouldn't allow trades in the open market but refuse the IPO shares? That would be completely hypocritical.
Funnily enough, I also have an account with HL where I also bought more in the open market (15k shares) but stupidly gave PB my Smart Investor account details for the IPO shares instead of HL!!
Moog. Those of us who make full use of ISA's (which are perfectly legitimate), are most likely to the biggest contributors to the Exchequer with regards to income tax and other taxes.
