Thanks D2C2. I agree Storj has one of the strongest business models of all the crypto currencies and one of the only models that makes any sense. It's just being dragged down by BTC and ETH unfortunately.

How are you? Hope all is well. Given the tanking of cryptos across the board (along with the poor performance of ARB over the last few months) I decided to just sit back for a while and not look at the prices. I used the time to do a UK holiday - which was ****e! I haven't sold any crypto but I did sell some ARB to fund the purchase of VLRM which is my only bright spot currently. It has actually bagged for me - shock horror!!!!

Thanks for the STORJ updates. I'm still down overall but more than happy to hang on in there. :)

D2C2 - I topped up with 2000 more STORJ yesterday. I was contemplating doing it at £1.80 so it seemed a no brainer doing it at £1.10!! Let's see if the strategy works.

I still hold BTC, ETH, ADA, DOT and STORJ and only stick with those. Initially I invested equal amounts in each and agree with you about top slicing after a rise. What I tend to do is sell 25% to 50% of the holding that has spiked anywhere between 30% and 50%. I then put that money into the ones that have underperformed. This has served me really well recently with ADA and DOT as I held more of them when they had a good run. Now they have risen, I've switched some of the funds over the weekend into BTC and Storj as they have both underperformed recently. I have also staked DOT on Kraken because it yields 12%. It's a bit of fun (I even like the dips) and I also like that it's 24/7.

This chat is a lot quieter than than the ARB board so we tend to check the posts a lot less regularity. Not quite as intense as ARB. I wish I could switch off for a week but alas I appear to have developed a compulsive nature.

Yes. It was not a great week for BTC. I'm hoping that EM's rather foolish tweet (he knew it would crash the Crypto market) can be turned to ARB's advantage. I'm ashamed to say I own one of his cars!! :( Consequently funds have switched out of BTC into ALT coins that I guess are more environmentally friendly and offer a different proposition. That said, BTC is extremely resilient and always seems to bounce back to test new highs.

That is a truly amazing story. :) To date I haven't had the time to research but once I retire I think that's what I'd like to do.

My pleasure spankyhibs. I said it made sense to buy on a dip!! Now is as good a time as any!! I've just sold 50% of my Cardano which by some miracle is up today and bought BTC!

Hi Topdog21. Welcome to the chat. You are correct about the disparity in charges. Transaction fees are cheaper on Coinbase Pro. I personally use the standard version though because I find it far more user friendly compared the Pro version and other platforms. I do also use Kraken for Polkadot which isn't available on Coinbase. :)

As if you didn't know already crypto is highly volatile!! To see 10% swings up and down in a single day is quite normal so don't get spooked out. I always try to always buy after a dip.
The best way to invest in my opinion is to spread the risk among 5 currencies. Do not put you eggs in one basket. Try to look for a currency that is backed up by a technology. I myself have invested in Bitcoin, Etherium, (the 2 go to currencies) then Cardano (which is up 12% today and 100% since I bought it), Polkadot and finally Storj, which is a favourite with both me and D2C2. We both think this has got a long way to go based on its business model. In fact, D2C2 has posted some excellent links on this chat which are definitely worth a look. Of course we can't get it right all of the time and any investment you make is ultimately your decision.

I use both Coinbase and Kraken because not all currencies are featured by one single company. Good luck.

Storj has pulled back a little but a very nice rise today.
I need to stop looking at Dodgycoin. It appears to be heading towards $1.00 because it's being push.
Need to find out how to short it, as it surely must fall off the edge of the edge of a cliff if it does!!

Is there a minimum cash pot you need to start with in order to make it work? I'm kind of semi retired now so I've been contemplating the idea of moving into day trading as my daily responsibilities decrease. I take one look at the tools (screens and charts) and go blank!! I may have to spend a weekend watching Youtube videos!!

Pretty similar to me in that I've been running my own businesses for over 25 years. It's good not being answerable to anyone else, and we are masters of our own destinies.

Like you I am holding ARB. A fairly significant amount. I had broken even at just over £2.00 but it then dipped again. I have also been accumulating VLRM over the last couple of weeks as it looks like there may be some good news coming.

Crypto is definitely exciting. I love the huge price swings both ways. Dips present opportunities!! I just keep forgetting to sell them before the next dip so I need to be a little more disciplined!!

Hi TheProfit. Good to see you here. :) I'm always intrigued by Day Trading. It's not an area I'm particularly familiar with, as I have always invested medium to long term - and only in equities. There is a real appeal in making a living from it but I suspect I wouldn't be very good at it!! Many years ago I occasionally traded options (whilst working in the City) but lost money more often than not, so I decided to stick at what I know and understand.

You are certainly right about the volatility of crypto but that does create opportunity. When you see swings of 10% daily it clearly isn't for the fainthearted. But on the other hand, if you buy after a large dips, the main coins have always recovered. I hold BTC (my largest holding) but this has been left behind recently by ETH (my smallest holding) in particular, but also other coins which appear to have no value at all. There is definitely a pattern with BTC, in particular when the options expire and of course over the weekend. When I get some time, I am going to study the patterns more closely and allocate some funds purely for day trading.

Thanks. :) You did well finding that one. I don't think it will take much to see this take off. At the moment there is too much noise with the other Altcoins. I'm hoping to add some more Storj next month. Hopefully buy on a dip this time!

Totally agree. Storj is the only coin I understand why it has an underlying value with huge potential. It has a proper business plan. I probably should have topped up after the recent dip but as usual was short of funds. I haven't got my head around NFTs just yet. But then I thought Bitcoin was hot air in 2015 when I was told to buy them at £270 a coin, so it shows what I know!!
I can really see dogecoin taking an absolutely beating at some point.

Yeh. I don't think these BB's are enough to move prices but it's good having this separate chat because it's easy to miss a post on ARB due to the volume of posts going through. It's crazy sometimes!!

Thanks D2C2. Really encouraging. To me Storj feels like it could have huge growth as the market cap is still relatively small compared to others. But this has a proper business plan. Doge I do not understand one bit. Set up as a joke. No USP. Unlimited coins. Yet worth $50bn because Musk tweets about it!! Surely it has to go pop at some point?!
I'm sure you've seen, there's a lot of interest in cryptos on the ARB BB. Do you think we should point them on the direction of this one?! The only issue is we can't put a subject matter! Cheers. :)

Hey D2C2. To be honest, I am only familiar with PLC mergers. It's a great idea for crypto if it hasn't happened yet!! Getting the best of both worlds!!
Same here with regards to my holding. I've read too many articles of people missing out because they sold too early. Buying 2 pizzas for 1 BTC!! Nightmare!!
