Having read that I am convinced I did the right think in selling the majority of my position for the time being. Classic Potter stuff. More of a magician than his namesake in turning negative into positive, you could show him a pile of charred wood and he would convince you it was diamond! He must be happy again, no more hard work actively negotiating with a major day after day, time to work on that golf handicap that must have slipped this summer. Failing that there is always the pool, Sun loungers and pina coladas! If the bit about the EA was a fair reflection of situation it looks more like a way to go on that (here it is, we don’t like it, oh you must I used my 2018 US Masters golf pen to sign).
Have thought long and hard about next steps with this post last week’s AGM and as a result have sold 80% of holding this week. Suppose it comes down to just not trusting Potter to do his best and be truthful with shareholders. Prepared to risk something happening suddenly but think we are on a timescale to near end of year before we hear anything else. Not convinced enough that an offer will come and think it is infinity to one that we will raise funds and go it alone on a drill - just isn’t going to happen (though possible we will rise funds to invest in a lion’s share major backed drill). In the meantime think this could drip to pre early May RNSe levels and at current price have still doubled my investment here (good to take profits sometime on AIM).
JB they were my first thoughts when reading the RNS. It is interesting they haven’t said how much the licence / royalty fee is per test (can’t believe that wouldn’t have been part of the agreement). Second what does TF think about us sleeping with the arch enemy? Undoubtedly good news to move on but suspect there is more to play out yet.
Certainly been a bit of a ride the last week and a while before that. Feels like there is a big pent up expectation as to what we learn the next couple of weeks. Have put out quite a few feelers but can’t get any clear view on what is driving things at the moment other than there is a lot of upside from here. I hope many that have taken the ride down are still on board to experience the upside of current phase.
Florida, I agree with you, think positive stuff by end Sept much more likely to be based on figures well ahead of expectations rather than and end to the Illumina saga or a buyout at this stage - those are for 2019 in my opinion.
Would not trust TW as far as I can throw a big brown grizzly bear! If he is hinting it is Prem then that will be for his own end. Has been wrong on this stock so many times that creating a pump to get the price up to then sell at a tastier profit thancould otherwise be realised through actual news and developments before everyone finds out there is no end in sight to the litigation is not beyond him. If he had inside info he would not be giving clues that makes the entity1 out of a field of 1 as he seems to be doing here. I think there is really good stuff that will come out in the next 2 weeks but I wouldn’t be trading based on what’s TW thinks.
Fjones40 - pretty confident prediction there! If you are wrong would you contemplate throwing yourself off the cliff at Beachy Head at sunset (as you are so confident and so presumably won’t be able to live with yourself if you are wrong)?
Yes, great to see this sustained, steady rise ahead of end September. Looking very positive and whilst we have had our hopes dashed on numerous occasions, i feel we are starting to realise the sort of potential we have all bought into (in my case through VIY, with some sales and buy-backs along the way).
MG - i told the board i was going about 2 weeks ago as i am regularly in the IoM with my actual work. I have been to that building a number of times over the years, but this was my first BPC AGM as it was the first one in a year where something has actually happened. I learnt nothing about what's likely to happen here over the coming days / weeks / months / years / decades but then again i did not expect to and so i was 100% right!
Was also at the AGM and would agree that it was upbeat. Do i think anything is going to be announced in terms of a deal any time soon - i would not be so optimistic on that (but based on gut feeling rather than because of anything that was said). Do i think they will end up doing a deal - can't say that is obvious to me at the moment but i am sure they will continue trying. Happy to sit on my shares at this stage but i would not buy more at this price. All in all i only went as i happened to be in the IoM for a business meeting yesterday and was happy staying another night but i definitely would not have travelled here specifically for it. I suppose it met my expectations - i didn't expect to find out anything new and that was the case.
Brynjon - it's more than "suggests" - it is what that bit says. Of course can debate whether that was just the way it was worded and reality might be different (for whatever reason). I'm VERY confident at the major is still involved, it's just not going to be a farm-in with just that major involved. Happy for others to have other views, everyone is entitled to their own views, but i am am very confident in my interpretation of where things are currently at.
Orson - why not buy many many multiples more and wait for the SP to rocket to the stars when HRH Steven discovers the biggest lake (no ocean) of the highest quality black stuff in the universe when UKOG will be valued way higher than Amazon and Apple combined and with no more placings or fund raises because they also discover a magic money tree in the KIMM at BB where the money was blocking the fractures stopping the black stuff gushing last summer. Hopefully that doesn’t come across as a bit rampy!
Uncomfortable questions, but comfortable answers (ie saying nothing that isn’t already in public domain)!
Yes, very nice pub for a few quaffs this afternoon prior to my flight to IoM. Gained more interesting info on what might be the direction of BPC today than anything I picked up on UKOG, but ultimately very positive on both.
Looking forward to trip next week for AGM. Actually am in IoM at moment and met up this evening with a couple of fellow large s/h’s (they have large s/h’s rather than they are large s/h’s)!! Some interesting theories discussed. Not expecting too much at AGM, consensus is that we will be on no news for quite a few weeks yet. Not tempted to sell and buy back as news could surprise on a short timescale and very positive to not risk being out at wrong moment.
Cheers ChittyBB. Flying from Gatwick tomorrow evening so fancying a trip out to the site, but more fancying a couple of pints nearby. Remember my visits to the Blacksmiths Arms near the B.B. site late last Summer and feel the anticipation of what’s coming just as much!
Posted earlier but other than being slightly off topic heavens know why my post was removed! Interested to know how far the site entrance is from the Black Horse on the bottom end of Horse Hill. Maybe it was my strong buy attached or the comment saying thanks for the photos of the big crane on site today!!!
Who is planning to go a week on Thurs? There on business on Wed so am staying Thurs night to go to the AGM and some beers afterwards!
