Sorry, meant to say hate not have!
Hi GS/Techni. Just got back from a trip to the Caribbean (I have the Atlantic crossings) and caught up with all the goings on over the past week or so. As you know, I am no great analyst or chart master, I trade round trends, experience and gut feel all of which tells me that (IMHO) the MMs cannot keep this down for much longer. Those sells have to be buys and, as you say GS, holdings RNS should prove that soon. It's gonna blow very soon. Always happy to eat my words when wrong.
Here we go again. 8% down on 4th August SP when Skrill deal was confirmed. MMs harvesting from the weak in the build up to results and then 250 listing. May be time to top up soon?
Buyer. They held 8m before the transaction and 20m after
Another II getting their snout into the trough, probably further explains recent drops in the SP to let them in on the cheap. http://www.investegate.co.uk/optimal-payments-plc/opay/holding-s--in-company/201508061337433250V/?fe=1&utm_source=FE%20Investegate%20Alerts&utm_medium=Email&utm_content=Announcement%20Alert%20Mail&utm_campaign=Optimal%20Payments%20PLC%20Alert
8m sold and the price goes up? Refuse to believe that! Surely must be buys?
Couldn't resist on the short sharp drop. Jumped into SPT also this a.m.
It's starting to get tempting again. Finger on spreadbet BUY button.... wait for it.... wait for it!
I can't see anything particularly wrong with shorting a share like this in the short term. There have been times of volatility where I have shorted a share that I hold when there is a possibility of the SP going down. OK, so I'm at a standstill for a while but it gets me over a period of uncertainty without any worries. It's like holding a ticket on a horse in a photo finish. Have a bet on the other one and you still end up a winner.
I think that the one thing we ALL agree on is that this SP should, and will, be a lot higher in time but, while it remains on AIM, the MMs can do what the hell they like with it. I closed out my spread bet and sold 40% of my holding at 287. I will probably buy back shortly before it hits the main index or a week before results if sooner as, when that happens, MMs will not be able to mess with it without good reason. Only then (IMHO) will we see what this Company is truly worth. Everyone to their own way and good luck to you all but I truly believe that buy, hold, sell and rebuy, there is still a lot of profit to be had here.
In my early trading days I lost loadsamoney through greed and holding too long. It took a long time to accept that and remove emotions from dealing but I got there. If OPAY goes up to 320, 350, 500, 700 or even more I won't be complaining. I've made a good whack here so I will be able to pick and choose the jobs I do for the rest of the year. They'll be another one like this along in a while and I'll be doing the same again with that. JS is right, IF something goes wrong here (only if, as I do not expect it to) I would be gutted. Don't want that feeling ever again. I prefer to leave a winner than a potential loser.
Well played GS. I agree that we could well see further buying opportunities in the short term. I dumped my spread bet at 283. Can't complain as I took it out at 228 on the way back up from the low 220's. Have finger on the sell button for 50% of the share holding as the rest will be virtually freebies anyway. I'll probably wait and see how the US reacts, if at all.
Hi GS. Just got back from a job on the Med. Sat phone was out so I missed all the action of the last week, (thankfully). Luckily I will be on line now to watch what happens first thing. Absolutely no idea as this is AIM but if there is a spike first thing then my spread bet will be going along with 50% of the shares in the full expectation of a dip later at some point. The MMs will play this for all they can whilst still on AIM as they will need to top up their holdings for the switch up to the main index. Once we get onto the FTSE250 I would expect a long and sustained rise cos they won't be able to play it any more. Well done to OPAY and the FCA though for no apparent leaks of info. Think the MMs were as surprised as we all were. All IMHO as always. If the SP doesn't react I will be just as happy as, long term, should be a good an profitable hold.
There endeth the lesson. Roll on 7am Monday! This is better than working for a living. Good weekend all. See you next week for another exciting episode of OPAY.
There's only one Bollinger I'm interested in and I hope to be supping plenty by next weekend!!!!
Would be quite an achievement based on no real news. It has been, and will continue to be, a hard struggle against the profit takers.
Mounting another assault on the 273 high of the day and I've lost my L2 access! Any news anyone?
What is it they say? 'I wouldn't want to be out of this over the weekend'! I've always cringed at that but I think Monday could be very interesting indeed. Certainly the early part of next week.
..... we are still awaiting the FCA decision.... out Monday??
Take off! But for how long?
