I agree. If the cat was out the bag there would be huge buying by the people in the no then probably a suspension , but like I said moving in the right direction

I can remember sometime back at the start of the pandemic after a AGM there was an rns stating this is a 14billion dollar deal including the power station and infrastructure , since then the coal has gone up massively. If and I’m not saying it is/will . BUT If it did get the green light it would be way north of 200p, I always believed and still do we would no when talks were going good as any Bangladesh politician who was in the no would fill there boots before it dropped. Probably a lot more than todays buys but moving in the right direction.

For the first time I’m aware of the minister for power and energy is publicly advising government to use own coal.

I think I’m wright in saying it’s the first time GCM has publicly said they are in talks with government.

I’m thinking/hoping the sola park was a requirement of the government.

Kieth fuller the finance director of GCM took his full allocation of options at the time off the last raise, looking at GCM’s website he now owns in the region of 1.4 million shares.

All third party contractors have been and continue to be paid in shares .

It is only the way I have read the signs and my own opinion. Please do you own research and do not take this as advise to buy.The share price is low because investors have lost all confidence and have seen many rises in sp and the inevitable drop as day trainers pile in . Yes I agree. Also Would like to see power China take a bigger cut of the mine itself . The list of projects they have completed in Bangladesh is long and very impressive they have there feet well and truly under the top table of government .

I’ve just re-read that rns and if that mou was extended would certainly be a positive indicator that things are moving in the right direction or even a JV signed. If we are to move forward the waste product and environmental concerns would be needed.

I would think we are somewhere in the middle , not sure we would get the going rate, and if we tried would get huge resistance from the anti west protesters , but seeing how desperate they are for power don’t think they would low ball too much either, but as you say £100 per tone is still a huge sum of money and would be seen as a master stroke by GOB. Win win. This is at a pivotal stage at the moment the next rns is huge, Good or bad , even if someone in the gov mentions using pulbari coal this will fly, if the next rns was gov gives permission to mine pulbari, pick a number !!

I understand what your saying. Hard to argue with facts. But the fact that gcm has announced they are in talks with GOB makes believe things are moving in the right direction and gives a glimpse at the light at the end of a long tunnel, I personally believe we have one chance and don’t believe GCM would of made the announcement if they weren’t at least fairly confident, my own personal opinion is talks have been going on for a while and the sudden addition of a sola park was there idea, only my personal view not based on fact. Time will tell we only have till end of March till we run out of funds

I don’t think they have a choice but use your own coal also don’t think there has ever been another time where they would have so little resistance if they passed it now could even been seen as a massive positive to a struggling economy. We can only hope the talks are going well and are with the highest level of government. I don’t see how we can raise more funds when we run out at these levels without huge dilution. The time has to be now ,

Funding says through to 2nd quarter so we have funding until end of March I think so thay had better get a move on .

The funds raised from the Placing and the Subscription will be principally be used for development capital on the Company's high-quality coal resource of 572 million tonnes (JORC 2004 compliant) at the Phulbari Coal and Power Project (the "Project") in north-west Bangladesh, and provide the Company with sufficient funds to cover its corporate operating expenses through to Q2 2023.

Gov saying they need to use own coal so hoping this might move quite quickly.

The most encouraging developmentfor me is the fact that the minister for power and energy Nasrul Hamid has mentioned using own coal 4 times in the last month. Even going as far as saying he is advising the government to use own coal as long as the affected people are compensated. I wonder if the talks with the GOB a his change of heart are connected.

Read the links posted on here over last couple of weeks even Nasrul Hamid is advocating using there own coal and he was the main instigator for the policy to use 100% imported coal. Probably for his own benefit , Banking on Russia to supply gas for the next 30 years is jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. Using own coal is the only option that gives Bangladesh control of there own future. Something they have never managed before , now that would be a legacy for hasina to be proud of. im hoping the fact that they have seen fit to tell us they are in discussions with the government means they are confident of approval, if the gov say no it’s game over. Im optimistic for the first time in a while.

It has been my own personal opinion that discussions with the government must of been happening for some time , with the most likely reason for the addition of the sola farm being the GOB’s idea, I agree with something Pulbari said last week which is a first. when he said there is no point putting the proposal in until they no it will be excepted or it could end up getting a strait rejection or sit in a tray and not even get looked at which makes me wonder if discussions are further along than we think. They are certainly desperate for the coal with hesaina’s whole legacy under threat of finishing in disgrace with a failed energy promise, incompetence and with rumours of corruption. In todays climate how you justify importing inferior coal thousands of miles at a huge cost to the country when there sitting on over 200 billion of there own resources.
