With the country on the brink of bankruptcy and having blackouts because not only can they not afford fuel because of the war in Ukrainian there is a world shortage , The uk has announced today they are opening a coal mine more than 30 years after the last one closed .
Maybee she does have to….
It’s all a bit irrelevant at the moment unless we get an RNS to say they have become a development partner but if that was the cast that would be a monumental confidence booster for us getting approval. Assuming Power China have all the details available they would not sign up to that unless they were positive of the go a head . These type of deals take months of negotiations. I’m not holding my breath though GCM are very bad in keeping share holders informed.
That’s not our mine. I think the positivity come from the fact they are saying they need to use their own coal and have no other option. Which has been obvious for some time. I see Anu Mohammed is still putting his 2 penny’s worth in , He’s a pain in the **** that man.
This can only play out one way wether they want to or not they have to use there own coal. The elections is next year so I would think they would want it sawn up sooner rather than later. But it’s on everybody’s lips but nobody wants to say it , phulbari is your only option,
That was back in 2006, this is the next generation and the new power plants have super critical technology and are way more environmentally friendly, I think we can all agree she doesn’t want to mine coal due to pollution, even though she is happy to buy low quality high polluting coal that has to be shipped half way round the world probably doubling the environmental damage than use her better quality coal on her door step, your right it doesn’t add up but is indicative of this backward thinking corrupt government . But it’s my opinion she is considering it not because she wants to but she has made so much of a mess of the economy she has no choice.
It’s a fair coment she has always been the stumbling block . Over the last couple of months her own ministers have mentioned mining own coal , even in parliament , I don’t believe they would do that without her permission so im hoping this is an indication that maybee the gravitas of the financial situation in Bangladesh has hit home and she realised there really is no other viable alternative open to her . We live in hope !!
Sorry showmethemoney I’ll rephrase , that is a definite option for funding sorted. I’m sure all parties including power China are at the table and was well aware that announcement was coming. hopefully we will get some sort of update soon we all no GCM give nothing away and have a very tight ship.
As per the directive, banks can lend money to set up coal-based power plants as required for power generation in the next 5 years.
So that’s the funding sorted , everyday there is another little bit of information released. Putting it in the public domain bit by bit looking better every day .
Great research 99, completely exposed the hypocrisy of these do gooders, there all the same sitting in there in there ivory towers dictating to people who have nothing, The tea pickers In Bangladesh went on strike recently because they wanted a rise on there £1.80 daily wage. I don’t think they would be saying the same if they was living in slums with no running water , blackouts and no money to feed your family. The Bangladesh economy had been destroyed by the people who was put there to protect it with massive corruption and now they have bless it dry they have no other options they will have to mine phulbari
I’m not sure anu Mohammed has the same support as he has in the past the situation is so desperate in Bangladesh I actually think the people will be very supportive of the mine along with all the positives it will bring. Phulbari seems to be mentioned daily even in parliament , my own personal view is it’s only a mater of time possibly even before Xmas.
When the RNS comes I hope it is either after hours on a Friday or 7am. If it is a green light this will open in the £ hopefully so the day traders don’t have time to pile on and kill the share. With all the talk in the news I can’t believe people are still selling at this price . Each to there own. If your not in when the rns comes you’ve missed the jackpot .

The Bangladesh economy is going down the toilet and things are getting worst every day and I’m guessing you have no idea how the talks with the Bangladesh government are going or what the talks are about. Everyone is entitled to there opinion and yours has never changed. But it just that, your opinion. Worth no more or less than anyone els’s,
With the late trades and buying being reported as sells the share price is almost certainly being manipulated by the mm’s most likely for them to buy there own stock at low prices but it has to be said the volume is just not there to sustain any sort of momentum or hold any small rise.
The management have to shoulder a lot of the blame for this , the communication or information is none existent . We was given a small piece of information”we are in talks with the government “. Great …..about what , Is it about a proposal? If so who exactly are you talking to , What response are you having , Is it about a mine and a power station ? Or just a mine ? Or just a sola farm? Are you talking about what royalties the gov will get or what taxation is likely or even a buy out ? Come on gcm most of us have been here for years and some have invested heavily . I think we deserve to be kept a tad more informed. Any chance of an update ????
They import…import…import.. because they they get there kick back to top up there Swiss bank accounts while the people of Bangladesh get hung out to dry, it’s so obvious it’s shocking. The few have the power over the many and can’t see it changing any time soon
