AB and the team have got this nailed.

Quite possibly, but this is a huge vote of confidence for AFC. Extreme E however new to motorsports it is will have completed significant due diligence on AFC and the product and systems they can provide.

This really is a massive vote of confidence from a very prominent industry sector where failure is not an option. If Extreme E had any doubt in their mind that the product would not work or be delivered on time there is not a chance they would have selected AFC Energy.

The market will catch on to this. The PR and publicity from this Extreme E will take AFC from being a relatively unknown to household brand.

AB and the leadership team really have done a fantastic job on this. This publicity would cost millions but AFC are actually being paid.

I am sure this has been thorough about and designed hence the reason they are only using solar to generate hydrogen and not to charge a battery.

I imagine thay have way more solar than required to generate the hydrogen to compensate for such potential losses.

Anyway, the whole sport is to demonstrate what can be achieved with technology. This is where AFC fit in with the complete system design.

let's not forget the efficienxy of solar is around 22%.

The sun produces 1000w per m2 so a 1m2 panel will produce around 220w.

So for 2mwh based on production over 40 hours you would need

2,000,000 Watts/ 40hrs = 50,000 w/hr

1000w x 0.22 = 220 watt per m2 = 225m2 of solar PV

Not forgetting that solar PV is probably not ideal for remote locations such as the artic as it is not particularly robust and can be quite fragile.

Doesn't sound like much for this application, but it would be impossible for us to say.

AB said a container the size of barbecue gas of hydrogen would be produced but didn't say what pressure or what barbecue container size. In Australia they love a bar-b !

Also think that Extreme E is utilising the AFC system to demonstrate that green fuel and power can be fully mobile and compact.
