Not against HS2 at all. Its certainly a positive for the UK, interconnecting cities and upgrading infrastructure. I just believe that investing into hydrogen and associated products may add more to the economic recovery.
In fact, they may work hand in hand. HS2 I spending millions to divert critical infrastructure to provide access for the railway. At the same time the UK pipelines are being installed and will be fit for hydrogen service.
The connection between major cities that the rail will provide may attract foreign investment into hydrogen and associated businesses due to the ease of transport within the UK. However, HS2 is not immediate whereas the transition to hydrogen is underway.
