So have broken the 250 SP ceiling (artificially created by someone on here) and will presumably power on to 300p in due course?!
Probably not..... because the next question is whether the SP rise is due to general investor sentiment or if it is related to the looming ex-div date. Realistically the post ex-div SP has to be taken into account.....so the 'real' SP is somewhere between 252 & 238 (as I write)
The genuine question I have is why anyone would make a prediction that the SP will not go above a artificially low SP of 250p, they are setting themselves up to look foolish (even if they may have a point)?
Reminds me of the Labour minister who left a note to his Tory replacement which said "There is no money left"?....meant as a joke (perhaps?!) but used by the Tories ever since as proof that Labour aren't good at running the country.
"I think much of the 'odd' explanation can be partly explained by the influx of newcomers who often have large scattered amounts of offspring...."
=====================================================
Chid, have you got any statistics to back up your theory....or is it just a feeling?
I have a 'feeling' that the UK is changing too, but to brand 'newcomers' as spongers without the data to back it up could lead to the wrong impression.
It is always easier to blame 'other' people for our own woes - it has been that way throughout history. Once the 'others' have been ejected one often finds that the problem still exists.
Personally I reckon we have become a nation of investors - stock markets, bonds & houses. We no longer make things here. Even the things we do invent are made elsewhere. It is the society we have created. Blaming 'others' isn't going to change things IMO.
"One major concern I have with my UK and EU investments is the focus on ESG well aware that the more regulation, taxes, energy hostility and other "well meaning" initiatives, investor returns will be lower, society hence poorer and ultimately social benefits will be lower"
==========================================================
With attitudes like that - if they continue to dominate political & business thinking - the world is probably facing a form of severe climate change. We are arguably approaching tipping points from which there is no going back.
Perhaps it was always going to be a hopeless endeavour, but to give up without trying - or to save a few dollars - is almost like praying to god to save us. God isn't going to sort things out, we have to do the work ourselves.
Personally I think I'm just gonna buy a boat....a floating modular boat.
"”Hopefully, there won’t be too many phone calls”"
=========================================================
What does that mean?
Name change?!
Don't tell me they're going back to RhyththmmOne??!!!
"To low. An easy 389p by year end....."
======================================
Mr Math, would that be the broker targets or your estimation of the SP?
I would have thought most people would have changed the '3' to '2'.
Regardless brokers are usually in cloud cuckoo land.
"Once the incentives end (SBCs), the top three S/hs won't vote for any more SBC, so there will be no incentive for the management to continue...."
==================================================================
I don't know if that is good or bad. Could be that Ofer drops us like a hot potatoe and moves his attention onto one of his other businesses. Perhaps it is time for someone else at the helm. Indeed if TRMR is a fully integrated company by then it might be better to have someone who can concentrate on the nitty gritty rather than having to firefight all the time. I get the feeling Ofer likes to grow through mergers rather than organic growth.
"Given the incredibly low salaries and mediocre cars in the car park (someone posted a link to it on Google maps once)...."

This is great. Is there a live feed?...I can watch them making me money.
I doubt any of the self-proclaimed share pundits Motley Fool are to be taken seriously.
You might as well follow the advice from a share forum!...in fact they might even be the same people.
Although I do read the MF stuff I take it with a huge pinch of salt. I do ask myself, if they are so good at stock picking why do they work for MF?
I would scrap the lot of em: Corrie, Love Ireland, Ant & Dec in rehab!!.....but there some people that apparently like that rubbish. Troglodytes the lot of em!
What we need is more Shakespeare & Shaw plays!.....starring great actors like Cumbernbatch & Rylance
"A good CEO inspires confidence. Carolyn looks amateur. Your average Headmistress gives better presentations."
===============================================================================
Tom, wasn't your advice to her to get a better tailor?....she should dress in Armani, then ITV would be in safe hands!
If ITVX delivers then her job is safe and the market will correct.....IF.
"She is clinging on and refusing to address the most important part of her role which is to defend the share price and the company from external threats."
=================================================================
Tom, I thought ITVX was Carolyn's attempt tp tackle the 'external threats' and also 'defend' the SP.
She can only 'defend the SP' by growing the business and/or increasing profitability.....which again is the point of the investment in ITVX.
I don't understand where this animosity from some people is coming from. She took the brave - and most would probably agree warrented - step to invest in ITVX. Now we have to give that investment time to bear fruit. If it flops then she goes....it isn't even half time for ITVX.
Dame Carolyn was presumably also behind the attempt to highlight the value of the studio business - by releasing news of interest in it. So another tick box in 'defending the SP' I would say.
She is only still in the job because she's a woman?!...how absurd.
PS I must stop disagreeing with myself....I hope we are having a nice day.
Peachy, I would hate to be the manager of the football team you support. I expect after every loss you are asking for their sacking. Hopefully it has nothing to do with gender.
Alex Ferguson had a terrible start to his illustrious career....unfortunately for all the other teams they didn't sack him before he found his winning ways.
They seem to be awash with development money. A big loan from a bank, the bond yesterday and even some profit. Lots of money to invest in expanding production. Looks like it's gonna be a busy year for somebody.
Gold plated toilets have been ordered for the executive washroom I hope....priorities!
On the 5th of April (today)
I suspect Carolyn is like every other director. They expect to be well paid in line with the maxim, 'you have to pay if you want the best'.
If she doesn't perform then she loses her job....but you have to give her time to deliver on her vision.
Unfortunately in the UK people are often rewarded for failure too.
" I'd be very surprised at anything over 250."
===============================================
Andy, you have revealed yourself for probably what you are, someone playing 'the game' (vey badly). Hard to believe anything you say anymore. Absurd figure of 250 for maximum is too obvious.
"Putin is an extremely clever guy...."
==========================================
Peachy, if Putin is such a clever guy I don't see how he misjudged the ability of Ukraine to resist his invasion and the concerted reaction of the Western nations to penalise him & support Ukraine. Historical events can have similarities to modern day situations.....but you can find similar patterns in almost anything if you analyse on the right scale.
Every situation has its own unique set of factors.....we have had climate change in the past but what seems to be unique is the human input to this event.
PS I'm not a historian and never studied it at A-level. I did study chemistry to A-level, so I guess I'm a chemist!
"We need Trump in, Farage in and leave the corrupt EU once and for all."
=============================================================
Peachy, I haven't figured out if you're taking the mickey or you're serious....I hope it's the former, otherwise your posts should come with a health warning.
"Never invest in a business you cannot understand", didn't someone say that once.
