Thanks RM. I thought that was the case but it seemed too simple so assumed I was doing it wrong.
If ( A very big IF) the shorters have to buy back even 25% of their short positions it will mean around 24m shares being bought....I have everything possible crossed including my gonads that this happens in next 2weeks......

How do I work out how many shares are held short?

They are trying to buy stock cheaply off us........

I just tried to buy 50000 shares and was advised it would have to be a negotiated order.....Not enough electronic stock available.

I then thought I would see what the scope was for selling part of my holding so looked for a price to sell 57,000. The price on the spread was 43.27 but I was offered 43.52

I am guessing there are more buyers than sellers currently out there following sell off this morning but not enough stock to go around?

well, it seems some people were spooked by the drop this morning which seems to be based purely on a retracement of oil. If there is anyone in here who has sold and isn't a day trader, can they tell me why they sold? Do you know something we don't as Tullow seems fundamentally poised for greatness, IMHO?
