Having been out for a couple of years I bought back in yesterday (10k) as a bit of a gamble that VCT would hold the div at 46p. Happy this morning with the div and the 8% sp rise. Back when I used to hold, this was a growth stock, now it's paying 7% div for me this year (obviously I missed the interim). Will hold and hope this continues northwards. GLA :)

I think it's either: Someone testing the water to get a firm buy price, or it's the way the stock-exchange/market-makers make up some buy/sell orders; i.e. they get a buy order and the audit is made up of more than one transaction to complete. But it does seem to happen a lot over just about any stock, so there could be another reason!

I couldn't see the article, but your headline probably sums up the situation well - solid results maybe, but no momentum, and possibly losing direction along with Paul Baker. SNWS heavily dependent on a shrinking retail sector, as well as being a distributer of old media in newspapers. From the trustpilot reviews (1 star because 0 isn't an option!) that were mentioned below, it's also obvious they're not exactly loved by their customer base. In any country other than Two-Tier Stalin's People's United Communist Republic of Britain &c... today's results might lift it a couple of percent, but no, just carry on falling towards oblivion, a perfect metaphor for the country itself.

I'll hold a while longer out of some kind of misguided optimism, but will probably bail before the losses exceed 4k.

I'm not sure if early news of Baker's resignation had anything to do with the sp fall (5.8%) on Friday, but it certainly seems to be having a downward effect today, losing the CFO is a boat-rocker I guess, there's always questions as to causes and so forth, but from what I can find in news articles, Baker's tenure with SNWS of 3.5 years has seen the sp rise nearly 50%, along with deals such as Reach and more recently the Menzies contract are positive evidence of a successful tenure, so he could just be moving to another challenge now he's completed his transformation project here. Smiths will be releasing a half-year ending March 1st later this month and if profits are in line with forecasts of £33.3m for Y/E Aug.25 then hopefully the sp will return upwards! I'm currently 2k in the red having bought a bigger chunk of the special div last month - time to hold and wait!

Should be declared by end of the week - possibly tomorrow (but sometimes they seem to be as late as the 14th of the month). There were two payments in January (December's on the 3rd and January's on the 31st), so it may be that Feb's gets 'pushed' a little, possibly 1st week of March. Nothing bad in Sharescope though, or the TwentFouram site, so not time to run for the lifeboats just yet!

I'm glad to be back in DEC after selling out 2 years back but bought back on 6th Nov. after Trump's election victory and am current £3.5k up (which writes off my loses from 2022). Keep going, Rusty - the US Administration is no longer trying to crush you - it wants you to grow...!

Hello all. I bought BOO back in Jan this year, 1000 shares and watched them do well since. This week was a shock to put it mildly! I sold out for a small profit, then after reading comments here yesterday, bought back in during late trading at 219.44 buying 5k, so more than doubling my holding. Thanks for the inspiration and the level heads - celebrating my 32% profit today - keep going BOO!

Whoever priced this stock at 750p for the IPO should be hung out to dry, it's been in a stalled descent since day 1 and is now nosing sub-400. Of course the brokers make their nice little profit so that's all that matters.
