The govt is corrupt and I cannot see this progressing a lot without political funding. Unfortunately systems out there are not straight forward as UK or Australia.

News on which project are you expecting this week?

I think covid situation was the most ideal time for getting this signed and for the US aprtner to launch this product since hospitalisation for IV treatment would have been challenging. I am not sure if there is urgency from either side of the table. I do realise that legal contracts can take a while.
Only few more working days left this year, so I am hoping we get the news soon and prevent sp slipping anymore. Lets see if the upfront payment is worth the wait.

Guys , at the end of the day, deal is done and nothing is gonna change now. I tend to agree of it being a bad deal but then we need to ask this question to GH next week.

Guys, having questioned today's deal, I am still grateful to be invested here and this share has put me in position to pay off my mortgage, like many others, if I wanted to.

I am just little upset with terms of today's deal as it could mean I might not be able to afford a potential flat in NYC couple of year down the line. ;)

@Paddy - you answered your own question there. I can only judge the news based on info I have got and the same info everyone else have got, so why does it make opinion of people calling this JV fantastic any better than those questioning it? None of us know all the facts and hence we are questioning and discussing out here, right?

Also if all the money was going to be used up at scally, I am still finding it hard to understand the rush to get PRE going, why can't we wait? We have waited for few years already and another couple won't make any difference, apart from probably giving us better deal. We already have so much going on, so PRE and blackhills could have been put aside for now.

@paddy yes I remember we own 100% scally still, but I remember this time yesterday, we owned 100% scally, Blackhill and PRE too.. and we had our plans to drills there already (means we also had money). What was the rush for GGP to go into this deal while there is not upfront payment either for immediate benefit.. !

Loll, basically it looks like everyone here thinks that only GH or BOD are professionals while investors can't be. Guys atleast I have a day job as a professional and I am basing my opinion on info that all of us have got in public domain. IF and BUTs are same as giving benefit of doubt to the BOD assuming their position. It seems like even if GH will fart, people will think he might have done for SHs benefit.. Loll..

And yes, think if HAV JV terms were better or this one.

Any institute would have given loan of £50m to a company with £950m mcap. So NC have not done any favors there.

GGP was in driving seat as NC is desperate for HAV to keep tefler running. If NC gives up, another major miner would have happily taken over remaining share of HAV for lot of money.

I have never said BOD have not done well, but time they got it wrong, in my opinion. Simple business acumen tells me that I have potentially given away major ownship of my property to a friend for nothing.

Just put your thinking cap on and tell me if you think this new JV (at 950m mcap) is better than HAV JV in 2019 (at 30m mcap)?

Redirons, I have been in GGP long before most of them out here. I have been invested in here since 2014, I hope you now know where I come from.

SocialistB - I had the same feeling as well. Most posters here are perhaps thinking short term and don't understand the long term loss on this deal.

In simple words, assuming Goliath is £1bn, current deal gives GGP £250m but by spending about £5m on drilling few holes and proving there is something, GGP could have perhaps got £500m. In my view, that is how a strud businessmen would deal. We also have money in bank to spend £5m on drilling or else wait until a year or so to get HAV income.

GGP and even all SHs here seem confident about Goliath and other targets, its potential and its size, so it baffle me why would any intelligent man not take risk of spending £5m to gain another £250m worth of additional stake.

We have basically offered new areas to NC as a Christmas gift, they are only expected to spend $3m dollar and if they don't find anything thats gone but if they find anything they could earn Billions.

Anyway, I tried explaining yesterday but the herd on this BB started thinking I am Bob. Some stupids cannot even see persons posting history to work and think a different perspective before commenting.

Anyway happy with the gain but I was expecting much more from the JV and larger gains.

They don't need to drill scally fully, prove there is gold and get a JV at better terms with NC or another miner.. not all JV need to be 75% NC and 25% GGP.

Remember exploration is a risky business with huge returns, so why not GGP taking that risk of drilling few holes at PRE and BH to work out before rushing into JV?

This JV has not given anything upfront to GGP, so what is the immediate benefit, try few drilling hole and GGP is not short of cash anymore.
