Even more positive31 Mar 2018 11:26
There have been a few understandable expressions of mild concern recently wondering why there has been no RNS since December 28 when we learned that the timeline for binding agreements and JVA had been postponed. I spent some of yesterday reading and thinking and am as a result even more confident of a very positive outcome to current negotiations than before. I suppose that what has become even clearer to me in my own mind that is that I am virtually certain that any bad news or negative outcome would have been reported. Silence is golden. We were resigned to no RNS in December when Christmas came and went but we got one in the dead days before New Year which damaged the share price but which on reflection was inevitable as companies, even AIM companies, cannot hide or avoid announcing potentially damaging news of delays. In fact the RNS was positive as it simply said that the size of the deal, and the scale of the project itself, meant that our two prospective major partners, GE and CMEC, needed more time to do their due diligence. The fact they were willing to undergo their site visit just before Christmas in temperatures of 40 degrees is a strong indication of their commitment to confirming a deal.
Since the start of the year we have heard nothing and the more I think about it the more confident I am. However, I wanted to spend time yesterday reviewing all the evidence objectively as I try to be careful not to let my heart rule my head. We know that bids were due by the end of February but we were not told specifically that an RNS would be released. However, I am certain we would have been told if bids were not received. So what has happened? Perhaps the bids were acceptable and work is ongoing towards a JVA, perhaps some details had to be renegotiated, perhaps GE want more than 60% and discusssions of terms are ongoing. We do not know but any of these scenarios will turn out to be positive for shareholders when we eventually get an RNS. In essence I am basing my confidence on the fact that we have no indication of a problem and, as has been said by others, I am certain we would have been told if that had been the case. I have a significant number of shares and am in reasonably good profit at the moment so I have had to think carefully on several occasions as to whether I should sell but I see no reason to do so and will await what I expect will be excellent news before the end of April.
