jamesroo - don't worry you're on a winner here. It will take some more patience though as in waiting for Q3 to see this go solid up to 25p. Of course I don't know what price average you're holding but either way i would say to hold on for another while.
I never really commented either way on TOR but I wouldn't be singing his praises now either. This in my opinion is the fruit of getting the Tullow guys on board (not that I have any facts to back this up). And to be fair I'm sure TOR had some input to getting them on board so maybe he does deserve praise.
LONGWAIT - I've said it before but the current Market cap is 50mil. If we assume that most of that value is based on BROE then we could extrapolate the value for PVR based on the deal we're all hoping will be done. In other words if someone is will to stump up approx. 40mil in drilling costs for 50% of BROE then we can assume that right now (risk included) BROE is worth 80mil then add some value for the likes of Avalon, Newgrange & Spanish point. There you go you have your valuation for PVR! Not very scientific but makes sense. Love the user name BTW - considering the share we are following
Thanks Investor and Chef. Investor another day I would say that a crazy evaluation but today I'll just enjoy the possibilities :)
Rhodi - you're not really quietly confident - you're posting it on a BB so I would say your loudly confident. Anyway pedantic asides I don't think it will hit 60 pre RNS - we are so close to a possible RNS - it could drop any day now. I don't think people would be leaving it this close to buy in. You could easily miss boat if it was dropped tomorrow. Basically I think whoever wants to be in has already bought in and the rest are waiting to see what news comes with RNS and or end of year figures. Of course I could well be wrong but as far as I know the PK study is not linked to 14th of March if that's the case people are now waiting to see what comes before buying in.
that we were going to get a good announcement today. Based on the fact that it is my birthday today and I thought being such a crucial shareholder to PVR that TOR was holding back the good news for my big day. They had better come with something soon or we will be slipped right back to where we started. Any guesses on what SP we will have with good news??
It would be very light but still I would have thought there should be enough to prevent small transactions causing a 29% increase. If it ends up only 10% at end of day then I would take no notice. If it stays at this increase then something is brewing. IMO
Perhaps I shouldn't have said the chip shop comment and I do admire this lady. She has made great strides in her career and I have no doubt a super capable person to make it this far so quickly. My comment was trying to hammer home the point that while she could be a great appointment in the long term - its not as if they brought in a specialist to manage a takeover situation. That is what was being claimed by some posters with absolutely no evidence expect that they changed the FD so they assumed it was for that reason. If we're going to make up reasons I could say the last guy left because he knew the ship was sinking and they then got someone inexperienced and she was glad to take it because it was a step up for her - but of course that would be just me making up a story.
Anyone any idea as to why these have gone up 29% in the ISEQ this morning. Surely there is good news about to leak? Anything above 10% isn't just market moving....is it? I hope so cos I'm invested in UKOG also - some good news would be great.
Chrisjc - How exactly will this new FD move forward negotiations?? 12 years ago she was running a chip shop an she is 38yo. and has never presided over a takeover - Not exactly a seasoned negotiator?? Could people stop talking about a takeover there is zero evidence to support.
Specul8 - we all hope we get the announcement this week cos the SP is going to stay slipping until it comes. Will be harder to spring board into the 20's etc if we start form 6p again. Hopefully we get back to 9 or at least hold current position until the announcement - which obviously needs to be positive. I think we can assume the market now believes the chances of good announcement are low. We were at 6p without any good news and we're only around 8 now.
Reflex - I'm 100% still holding for now - if it reaches 60 p I will have to reassess.
Just to add to my last comment. In my opinion the person they have brought in does not indicate that they are going down the takeover route. They may be and I'm sure they will not refuse a good offer I'm just saying that they are not actively pursuing it if this personnel change is the indicator we use.
fair enough thomsbrowne - apologies for misunderstanding. But I don't think people jumping ship though is the right way to put it - no one ever jumped ship where a takeover could mean they get sizeable bonus (which all management will if it happens). It is the "removal" of some management to make way for people with experience in the field of takeovers or who have presided over them that gives a real indication that something is either happening soon or that the company is making a strategic decision that this is the route they want to go down i.e. seek out a interested party to take them over.
HI reflex, you're probably right but I would veer towards negative on this one. I haven't a clue what the last guy was like but thomasbrowne and the likes saying this is an indication of a takeover couldn't be further from the truth. She has very little experience and getting someone of this calibre only highlights that this company is a little lightweight in my opinion. If they brought in someone who had experience of being at the helm during a takeover period then brilliant but instead it looks like she has no experience of note except her last role and certainly didn't preside during takeover talks. In any event I might be harsh on her and she may be good but the CV certainly doesn't indicate it.
True, I wouldn't call you a ramper - more like a clown. Sorry but this is in no way a replacement for Viagra - so far only proved for mild ED sufferers. Not sure why you're saying forget Viagra - not even the company themselves would claim to be a replacement for Viagra.
Early bird - nice post and very logical. Another way to value this though is that if the farm in company get 50% of Broe and they get it for accepting all the drilling costs. They can probably tightly estimate what the drilling cost will be - so if it costs 50million to do a multi well appraisal then is the valuation on Broe not 100 mill? Obviously value shoots up if oil can be commercial but in the meantime both PVR and farm in partner are valuing the field at 100Mil. - I obviously just used round figures to explain my point.
If deal is announced I'm sure we will breach the 20p mark - At which point I will be sorely tempted to take my profits and run - but you never know, greed might take hold.
Its probably better than the UKOG bb (I'm invested there also), where everyone is telling each other what a great company it is and if you stray from that line you're shot down. That bb is about 80% drivel.
Nothing happening - nothing to discuss I guess. I imagine they're playing charades or something to keep themselves occupied in the Providence offices :)
