Frankly I consider certain posters' long-term unremitting support for BT refusing to make virtually no criticism baffling. There is plenty of justification to criticise him on the grounds of what he tells us and the actual outcome. Is it some sort of sycophancy? Are they being rewarded in some way? The only conclusion I can draw is something else I quipped at the beginning of the month:

IMHO his departure is as a result of the new NED's influence. Looking at the LTIP and its timing w.r.t. the share buyback I'm wondering if he saw it coming.

I agree with you. To put it another way despite the "official" free float being something like 84%(I think???) in reality because of how people reacted to the BB it is in reality well below 50% at a bid under 24p and in the absence of any news will only increase slowly as the bid increases. However I think that this doesn't explain the movement and level of the spread.

These spats are not necessary. Everyone should be able to state their opinion without being insulted, especially if they cite facts to back up what they say. I call it freedom of speech. Insulting whole groups such as the Irish is purile IMHO even if freedom of speech applies. As a group you help me decide what I think of Nanoco and having multiple viewpoints is better than only one. IN ADDITION I would ask you all AGAIN if any of you have any possible explanations as to why the LSE ASK PRICE is sticking around 17.98p? I'm aware that some have bought at just under 17p but I am starting to get very suspicious in a paranoid way.

The ASK price is back at 17.98p. It has been at or very close to this value for most of the time for a while now, possibly since the BB stopped. Is this just a coincidence? In other words when the share price moves it is almost always because the BID price moves.

You're probably right about something going on behind the scenes. My theory is the new NEDs are making their presence felt. However I don't appreciate you suggesting a take-out price of only 35p! You're scaring me! Please stop?

As far as I can remember (can't be bothered to go back and look) plenty of people had plenty to say about the appointment to the board of two new non-executive (=independent???) directors that had just been announced. Also many people have made very good argument justifying why they don't believe that the company will achieve break-even (on a cash flow basis?) when BT & Co say it will. Seems quite reasonable to me that the new NEDs may have come to the same conclusion and have decided that it would be prudent to conserve cash to bide the company over to such time as it is self-sustaining on cash flow. This could explain why the BB has stopped.

If the suspension of the BB is the result of the new NED not swallowing BT's spin then there might be an upside in that they decided he needs replacing, preferably ASAP.

As Danny Blanchflower said: "If he's not affecting play what's he doing on the pitch?".

Perhaps they've called a halt to the share buy back???
