I'm not expecting fireworks though.
Don't get me wrong, long term, this is absolutely the stock to be in.
It's just that prior to the last few releases hype beforehand has led to disappointment.

that's a very good post. A very relevant post.
If, as we hope, exposure to this stock grows, then quite naturally new investors, or indeed potential investors may well come across this forum. Some will be timewasters, others will ask unnerving questions, which should be expected and answered truthfully, which many of the LTH's do.
What we don't need is people rubbing these new investors up the wrong way... by that I mean when they ask what on the face of it sounds like questions that have been asked and answered for years... they don't know that. Doesn't help our cause when people raise their eyebrows and make reference to GGP Help site. Nor does it help when individuals start to punch people back and make a move for the hand cuffs as soon as an uncomfortable question is asked. I wonder what new members think when they are met with that.
Some people on here need to sit down and re-evaluate their tactics. Perhaps their intentions are good but they just come across as bullies?

Thanks for that froggzy... also led me to look at additional videos on YTube. Found the more I watched, the more confused I became. But, came away with a greater understanding,.. that's for sure!. Thanks again.

Then we can all look back and work on fact.

Never understood what drill results were telling me... or rather weren't telling me.
Obviously there are teams out there who can digest this sort of info in minutes... me on the other-hand, look for the key words in the opening paragraph of an RNS.
"Pleased to announce" - used to be a somewhat reliable indication of something good.
"Announces" - used to be a somewhat reliable indication of something not so good.
Looking back at recent RNS' it would appear that rule of thinking is now defunct?

When I posted, my belief was that Newcrest would make an announcement to the ASX.
Obviously I got it wrong.
So why the rise? Who knows? Maybe next week - we will see.
I do, however, have an unrelated question for one or more of the knowledgeable ones on this board.
Good old Earnest Giles...
In March this year, Shaun Day informed us that, following a "detailed" internal review of exploration data, Greatland had decided to double the footprint of Earnest Giles, applications being granted of course (I suspect further expansion). If all goes well that will give us somewhere in the region of 2000km2 .
No doubt some LTH's will be drawn back to May 2017, when Greatland came to an agreement with Newmont giving them access to Greatland's database and permission to carry out their own DSG survey on Earnest.
After evaluation of results Newmont decided their money was better focussed on other districts (Faster, cheaper gains in my view) SP tanked horrendously!
Callum wasn't going to let this one go...
I could ramble on for a while but we've got a gathering to go to...
Point is this - Earnest will be the next massive open pit. In my mind, Shaun et-al have spoken "unofficially" with Newcrest .
Might be talking a load of bo77oks here, but who knows? Let's look at the likes of Jundee, Kalgoorlie and Leonora, to mention a few.
In my mind, Shaun has taken a good look at all holdings and decided that Greatland is currently spread too thinly.
All this is rushed of course, so i fully expect to be corrected in one way or another.
Big news next week? I think so!
