RE: Interims presentation - 8:30 Monday Sept 2327 Sep 2024 11:31
Generally in semiconductor industry , its difficult to tap out the chip on time. I have never come across any project which finished on time. minimum it take 6 month delay. which propelled by architecture change/RTL integration/Verification/ New node technology setting from foundry/Test guy, Firmware guy and Packaging to get froze.
Hence I was wary about LPO products of Banias which was from scratch.
Now Korean Semi, I also feel same.
because after tape out of chip , they boot the chip by writing firmware, testing of yield and so forth take another 1 year.
Then it go to production.
It would take time to get on production.
Its long story and depends on how product fit compare to long standing companies such AVGO/MRVL who are incumbent with their strength in supply chain with pluggable transceiver market.
However, there are always room for new companies to make handsome amount of bucks.
I think 1 year is still optimistic view.
My guess is it take them to 2026 second half to get on constant flow of revenue from LPO ( Dec 2025)as well as SoC (from Opensilicon).
I think till second half of 2025, companies revenue come from IP products.

The question I have on bookings,
they show the booking in quarterly results , but when that booking convert to revenue? because every booking diminish with the production after every production.
