There are a few decent analysts on Twitter saying similar. Also pointing out the gap between trying to green the economy versus the absolutely massive gap that can’t currently be filled by renewables and how this has played into the staggering European gas prices. I’m all for a green economy and saving the environment. I also like money hence my stake here. 700 I mean it’s doable but would be smashing the five year highs. I’d be happy to see mid 400s where it bounced around for a year or two previously.
Wa going to go 50/50 BP Glencore in February ended up 100% here. Glencore today 400! BP next week 400. I’d say our fundamentals are better. Fingers crossed and we’ll done to all of the medium to long term holders.
I’m with interactive brokers. Down another £1000 this morning. Fingers crossed that the divi turns up quick to get more at these prices bring the average down a touch. Let’s not panic guys this ain’t no AIM ****ter. Sit back relax this new wave is gonna take a few months to pass by and BP is gonna get wrecked in the meantime. Hold on tight take the dividend. Look at tech in the USA it’s getting wrecked too and you are not gonna see those valuations again! Next results will see us drift higher. Eventually the pressure to increase dividend will be too much for the board to resist and wham we will fly. Don’t get FOMO we are all good here!
Markets shrugged off the 400,000 barrel increase. So Mr Market thinks new variant is hype is overblown (hope so for my SPY calls I picked up cheap yesterday) POO probably slowly to 75 and stay there stubbornly, while we mint money. Happy days. Shame there is so much drama in the forum, why do people get personal, it's just stocks and shares not life and death. Good luck all, just gutted this didn't quite dip to my buy in level to pick up 2000 more.
After last night's oil action, I expected a lower open and was going to load up. Perhaps they did action some buybacks last night and over the last 48 hours. Who knows? I'd also like to know if BP hedged some output up at 80 dollars. Will we hold up now? OPEC+ this afternoon so lets see. I doubt they are going to go out of their way to pump more under these circumstances. Onwards and upwards!
Which chimes with a Tweet I saw last night: Morgan Stanley: oil's pullback is no doubt a near-term negative for E&Ps (although they weren’t pricing in anything close to 8-handle oil before) but longer term bullish, as it provides a ‘friendly reminder’ to E&Ps to remain capital disciplined
Happy you took the time to research that. 15th Oct we were flying and had broken that range of 300 to 340. Sadly, we slipped back to where we are now. I was in here in the spring with an average of 315 and a fair size. I believed then that we would hit 400 much sooner, headwinds, lack of dividends and an early year lower oil price slowed our progress. I'd like to be out again at 400 unless we see really strong momentum. It's clear from seeing what happened at ITV that only a rise in DIvi will give us the momentum to sustain past 400. If that's the case I'll stay. As I type we are up 5p don't fret!!
True. The FTSE is a bit joke. Our valuations compared to America are pathetic. The problem as others have pointed out is the too many people believe property is the only investment worth making. Add in the lack of self invested 401ks and people don’t have the same interest in the markets as Americans. It’s a shame. I’m out of this share at 400 and will stick to the s&p
Finally, someone gets it. This isn't some AIM pump and dumper. This is a multibillion dollar corporation. Hang tight everyone, we were up at 366 and in the 360s for almost a week, that means people brought and sold at that level and will look to buy and sell there again. Don't fret. Buybacks are good and keep a floor under the share price. We'll see 400 before the spring.
Yeah it seems this is getting lost. They are printing cash but for their accounting purposes decided to consolidate their losses into one quarter. They have some very good accountants who know what they are doing. Plus BP must have knows that a huge profit in the middle of a climate conference wasn’t going to be great PR. Oil capital investment was floored last year it’s going to take several years to get that supply back. Sit back relax and give it time. BP are gonna come good.
