RE: Getting pounded in Oz30 Apr 2026 08:23
GGP does not follow Gold entirely in lock step, it recently moved by large % swings on negative/positive news (production downgrade, run up to ASX listing), it is predominantly moved up and down based on the amount of shares required by institutions and funds. Large orders are placed, the price drops, and if they happen to be needing shares when Gold is retreating then happy days, they have a built in excuse and people bleat, 'it's just following the Gold price, it's not rocket science, and there's absolutely no manipulation whatsoever because that's never happened before, ever, and the markets are simply efficient emotionless entities to accurately value any one company at any one moment in time based on all available data'.
Anyone with eyes and the ability to know how to use them can see that is completely absurd. GGP is no different to any other share that rises out of nowhere and transforms from an explorer to a high level producer in a short space of time. When that happens, a considerable amount of shares are already held by normal everyday folk from when it was a penny share. When institutions want to own a slice of something that is going to be many multiples of the current price (we are a Major mining company wearing an AIM tracksuit, Saville Row already has our measurements and the cloth is being cut as we speak), they have the 'tools' to achieve that aim with their symbiotic relationships with all the market makers who set the prices.
If Gold plummets we will naturally be hit just like any other company, but then we have puts in place and a pile of pre-mined paydirt sat at surface that can be turned into cash. Nearly all other companies in our sector don't have that luxury and they also have DEBT which compounds their misery and massively reduces the amount of free cash flow after taxes and fees etc.
Obviously a higher Gold price translates into a higher share price (or should do), but there are many other factors to the price movement of GGP because we are effectively the new kid on the block. Give it a few more quarters of production and the true value will start to be reflected. This is now a share to hold, not to fold, the future is secured for generations.
Bring on the dividends!
