Does anyone know what percentage Muddy waters is shorting
There is nothing on the daily shorts positions yet the like of Aqr which is also American shows up

The company bought the other day at alot higher price so why didnt we see big buys from the company today are they holding back in case it falls further
Just cant understand why they didnt say buy 500,000 shares costing about 6 or7m a small drop in the 200m buyback

I agree as per my previous post alot of people have packed up for Christmas
We did have a bit of a Santa rally last week after the election,so I expect little movement over the next 2 weeks with only about 6 trading days left some of them half days until the end of the year
The 10yr spread is back up and the Dow at a high just wondering what will cause the collapse and when

I have several Isa but I dont use these to trade with I just have companies that pay about 6 or 7% dividends and leave them to grow that way
Like you I dont want to be looking at a screen all day and trading so it's more of a hobby for me that's makes a few pounds

I am lucky to have retired early having been in the police force for 30 yrs I have a pension I can live on as I live alone and then supplement it with a bit of trading normally during the winter months
I dont want to be bothered with tax etc so keep it around the £12.000 capital gain allowance
I have a pot of cash I use for trading and if I make the wrong call I just leave it and wait for it to pick up again rather than sell and avoid big losses

Freeport has a market cap of 18bn and First Quant about 9bn I think a bit out of our league
As you know the mining index is so volatile with Kaz and Anto falling from highs to finish pennies up, it's a day traders dream and I am afraid that I have now become one of these with no allegiance to Kaz anymore for this reason.The board have made the decision to have loads of debt which could turn ugly at anytime.Dont forget all the companies we see in the headlines are shares with loads of debt
Come Monday who knows but with a careful eye and when you have little to do at this time of year but to look at the movements it could pay for your Christmas

Well I have tried to align the FTSE mining index with the Copper price. and the price of Kaz.On the 30th Jan Copper was 2.79 the mining index was 18391 and Kaz was 579. This is about what it is today yet we are 70p lower.On 3rd June mining index was 18345 Copper 2.65 and Kaz was 511.So does it follow the mining index more than Copper
Copper has risen from 2.65 at the start of December up nearly 4% yet Kaz has only gone up by the same amount.A 12% rise ie the 1 in 3 ratio would put it at the 550 region which is not far from the 579
Draw your own conclusions either we get a massive rise in the next 3 days or something is holding it back
So much for the Put option which we thought had done well last week but now the tide has turned against it
