Look are the share price Fleccy. Your never ending record on repeat never considers the market analysis might be correct.
I don’t necessarily think BT is in terminal decline but I can see several scenarios where it could be. My assessment is it’s on a knife edge right now & it’s best laid plans might not pay off
I was reading last week about satellite backhaul for 5G Vodafone being at the forefront. It’s probably not quite there, yet aside for exceptions rather than the rule, this could be the beginning of several services BT ( according to you) rely on coming under pressure.
Openreach are only one large scale wholesale contract away from disaster, even if they share network providers & play them off against each other.
& right now, i’m struggling to see how BT will complete their FTP schedule in time, without buying smaller operators.
fibre take up isn’t anywhere near where it needs to be. Meanwhile it looks like BT’s BAU is being disrupted, I see more faults being reported & service levels getting worse and worse.
Drahi might be forced to sell huge volumes of shares.
Large scale change in a business can rapidly turn into chaos, do we think BT board are capable?
EE will soon be the smallest mobile operator in the uk should three & Vodafone merge. From largest to smallest in under 10 years of BT ownership.
So much risk right now. I can easily see where the market is coming from
& there isn’t going to be a bid, why would anyone bid, when BT keeps following a downward trajectory & whose luck needs to hold in the short to medium term.
IMO. Rewards could be high, as are the risks right now.
Like said couple of weeks ago. Reality doesn’t warrant continuous, unquestioning positivity about this share.
Drahi is only one of many potential bear traps, which really should be part of any grown up discussion .
Calm down lil Rod, be careful of those gaskets!!!
Who ever accused you of flashing at children was out of order, plain wrong, not funny, I would have thought most people on here would draw the line at that point (where are the usual morality police?)
I don’t understand people who block? Very strange, all that does is create an echo chamber, may as well post to yourself. Can always choose not to read. It’s pretty weak to go blocking.
CWU & woke aside, you have an underlying contribution to make
I agree lil Rod 100%
This is actively repeated time and again, over and over and over. It’s full of bias, I never see the same people doing this looking at the possibility of competition or changing circumstances
It’s even worse than that, the same one sided bias accuses people who do look at share price reality as anti BT or what ever
I’ve personally seen people asking Fleccy what to do with their money & they do that because Fleccy & others set them up, them, not realising this board is little more than an echo chamber, with almost everyone confirming each others bias…….
It’s ridiculous to take a position of undiluted positivity, with a share & company performing like BT is currently
Everyone strategy is their own business, you don’t need to turn it into a religion.
Phat - any idea what humour is? You do realise lil Rod is making fun and mischief (in his own way).
You do seem to be taking it all a bit seriously ?
I wouldn’t want to see you bent out of shape
Yes £500 min doesn’t sound nearly enough, when compared to the sums other players will likely invest.
& Fleccy - BT have a proud history of not monetising their R&D - even in recent times BT missed the boat with the simplest of things, TV apps for one, they were so late delivering OTT apps for their tv service for majority of smart tv’s. I was so frustrated about this I sent them an email!!!! So many other examples of really good ideas and really good business options left unloved inside BT Group.
Fingers crossed though, new revenue streams is what I want to see. EV charging I love would be happy to see any of this being a success.
It’s hard to see how BT will be able to compete in this arena with the like if Google, other silicone valley companies and of course the Chinese. Do they have the fire power nowadays ? I’m not sure they do.
Hey lil Rod, nice to see you remaining so civil when being provoked by our resident pib bore.
I can only assume like me, you’ve had the board rules, riot act read to you curtesy of admin. Interesting reading I thought. Particularly When they pointed out terms and conditions include them taking your device information (as direct from your device) to track and identify you. ( that’s device information not NETWORK). . Up to and including personal data and cookies etc.
Although I’m sure we already knew that
All we need to do is get you to see this government aren’t conservatives & then I’ll really believe the therapy is working, I wouldn’t mind the name of your nurse &/ or gym instructor !!! Btw
PS. I would opt for health and happiness, they aren’t always the same thing. I had a friend who wanted a six pack. She did it, but it made her so sad & needy, I’d hate for your gym adventures to do the same to you.
Blue - no I don’t think there is, unless if Drahi does something which could trigger DT to pick up his stake?. If the market is correct on share price, could be a reason DT wouldn’t want the risk? No Idea. Doesn’t seem to be any serious speculation
