Thanks Punter, in my experience the more research and knowledge you gain before deciding on a course of action the luckier you get. Good honest management in any company, even more important in mining, is a prerequisite for me to invest.

Assuming the gold is there, safely stored underground, then I’m betting on Darren and his team to get it out in a timely and efficient manner. The gold price will do the rest.

I’ve tried to buy MTL this morning starting at 8.10am (showing price 12.9 ask) through Hargreaves Lansdown no stock available down to 5000 shares so I’ve set up fill or kill order for £70k worth up to 13.25p. Waiting to see what happens. I’ll report back.

It looks like there is an opportunity for members here to post comments about MTL in the comments section about the qualities of MTL and why “junior” miners leverage the gold price whilst holding there gold underground… safer than Fort Knox.

MTL is on its way into the FTSE 250 without a doubt. This is probably the reason we have such large buyers taking millions of shares per day… they want to get ahead of the curve. It could happen as early as 16th September as the constituents are based on closing values at the end of each quarter (end of August) based mainly on market value as well as a number of other criteria which should be met by MTL. The current valuation would probably be enough! Once in the index many funds are required to hold shares to balance their portfolios etc.

I think Pedro is right. I too think MTL is still 18-24 months away from its high point for a share price. I have quite a few shares in MTL but have 3 times the amount in Calibre (soon to be wrapped into Equinox) which wouldn't have been my choice but Calibre needed extra funding to be sure about their expansion plans and played themselves in Equinox hands. However, that combination is a better short-term bet (3-9 months ) than MTL but longer-term MTL may be the better option. My plan is to switch to MTL in 2026. I'm using the Lassonde Curve as my guide. I'm thinking double in Calibre then another double in MTL in my time frames. You can't be all-in MTL just yet as they still have a lot of balls in the air and anything happening to the plant move or construction would be a big downgrade. When the plant is 50% built I'll be happy to move more across.

The options were already listed and Darren was always going to convert at some point if he thought it was worth it! It's therefore good positive news that he has somehow found the funds and committed himself wholeheartedly to MTL. MTL will now have received a serious amount of money from its CEO and he has more cash on hand to spend in the interest of ALL we shareholders.

I've reinvested half of the cash proceeds from Condor into MTL and the other half into CXB. This makes sense to me (other things being equal) as I don't expect a large uplift in MTL until they generate news on progress (the reason they still need to promote themselves to LARGE investors (don't take this personally but you guys are small fry in the scheme of things and won't move the dial very much)... hence Mining Conventions, where big players go to meet in person). A potentially more profitable short-term play is CXB (who should go into production next quarter) then switching back to MTL in time to catch the uplift over the next year or so... checkout the Lassonde Curve for guidance. BTW both CXB and MTL are exposed to changes in Guatemala so don't bet the farm. If you're interested in dividends then look at Fortitude Gold. They are waiting for permits only for near-term expansion on close proximity pits giving a big boost to the current share price.

My Condor shares were transferred a couple of weeks ago and the 9.9p payout into my ISA, SIPP, SIPP Drawdown, and Share Accounts at Hargreaves Lansdown last Wednesday. I have reinvested half the amount into MTL with the other half in Calibre CXB. My reasoning is based on loyalty and Lassonde Curve. The CXB Valentine mine goes into production in a couple of months and MTL's new La India mine within 18 months. I'll consider swapping CXB into MTL around 6 to 12 months time.
