BumbleB, aren't you making Piller's point for him? When he says perfected I think he means developed to the point where it is commercial ie can be sold. No one is suggesting that future development will not be on going. Piller's point is that AFC has been saying for years that it is about to go commercial when clearly that was not the case; it was misleading spin on the back of which many invested. Ian Williamson told me personally in 2012 that by 2014 he expected to be selling MWs. AB told us to expect 1 GW by 2020. Yet here we are, only now hopefully on the cusp, but yet to sell anything.
Let's be honest....well over a decade to develop a stack that can be sold is daft.

The above said, I truly believe that we are there now and able to sell (or do we need still to develop the 160MW offering); that plus Alkamem makes the rest of this year potentially very exciting for the SP. I only really care about the SP.

BumbleB, you have hit the nail on the head. I wonder how long it will be before we are excluded completely from these projects (this one was 14 European countries....of course we wouldn't be part of it) and how long it will be before the economic indicators show us just what a mistake we have made. We risk becoming an irrelevance on the world stage.

If anyone is serious about buying, but needs to await the larger unit, there is no reason at all that a MOU should not be issued stating the intention to purchase pending successful demonstration of the 160 Kw unit to defined parameters. That would at least confirm the interest and that discussions are taking place. At the moment we have no idea what discussions are happening or how fruitful they have been. Shell might have been "in discussion", but if they sent the tea boy along not much will happen.

We need an end to them vague, uninterpretable reports.

Bosch are increasing their share of Ceres to 18% with a £38m injection.

Imagine the result if a multinational did that to AFC. £18m in the bank (for 18% approx) and all the other benefits in terms of investor confidence.

Afc has said in the past that trains and ships are possible targets (especially with the new solid cell), but they have always denied that cars are a target.

I guess that could change as the power density does. There are advantages to our cells.....they run much cooler. Probably useful when you have hydrogen around! Alkamem may help in this application too.

I don't disagree with this. I think it is just a question of how soon is soon.

Personally I don't see a takeover before the product is proven and commercial with a pipeline of orders and hence an expectation that the massive potential will be realised. Hopefully that will mean the SP is £1 or more (MCap of £450m). One would expect a reasonable premium so I would be very disappointed if AFC were taken out at less than £1.25 a share. I believe the eventual figure could be rather higher.

My guess is that no one cares what your guess is.

ITM's 1 GB factory.

That's why ITM has a MCap so much bigger than ours. They need a 1 GW factory. AFC has a bit of catching up to do.

If they suggested 2-3 months I would count on 6 on past performance.

Why not BumbleB. An arrangement whereby they act as AFC's agents in Europe could easily be arrived at.

Especially if they have an equity stake in AFC by then......

Just 2% of that would be £34m for AFC per year.
And that's just Europe.
That would give a turnover many times higher than ITM. Might help our MCap.......

One would hope they are already aware. You have to know your market. And Wendy reads these boards.

I think it has been mentioned before on here also that the workplace might be especially attractive - a point also made at the PI day - as the AFC system can charge cars, but also double up as a back up power source, thus replacing diesel gensets. These are hence not sitting around doing nothing.
Did anyone else pick this up?

AFC suggested that pay back on their EV charging solution should be as little as 2 years. Jim Gibson stated this on 6th December in response to a PI question.
I don't think the drive will come from garage forecourts....why would you charge there? You will charge when you can leave your car to do other things. So supermarket car parks, airports, train stations, NCPs etc, and of course the workplace.
Eventually petrol stations will disappear. This is a problem as I will have nowhere to buy flowers for the mother-in-law.

I don't think it is right to say AFC is a bargain stock. It is true to say that ikt has great upside potential.

The MCap is where it is because we still have no orders, comms remains poor and technical details (as well as detail of the business model and funding) are lacking. This all means that AFC still carries risk; it is valued at less than ITM and CWR because those are much more mature entities.

Potential investors need to understand that this is not a guaranteed bargain stock. Rather, it is a rapidly developing company with exciting potential, both in terms of value and what it can add to the green economy.

I would like it to match the ITM valuation as much as the next man. Many in a year or two......

I have no issue with options, but these are too generous.

This is just a bit too snouts-in-the-trough for me. Especially as it appears to those of us on the outside to have been their first goal in the New Year. But hey why let obligations to shareholders get in the way when you can make your own bed first??

Unfortunately lots of fuel cell companies have been receiving orders. In fact AFC is about the only fuel cell company that has never had an order...or at least one that has come to fruition.

Let's hope that changes very soon. And let's hope that the AFC offering is so good that it is not just limited to EV. It really is now or never given that the open sign is on the door.
