Analogy.....MM's buy shares & fill up the hopper.
Shares exit the hopper via the MM'S outlet valve (they sell)....SP drops
Hopper level drops, MM'S close the outlet valve (they buy) & the hopper starts to fill...SP rises...and so the same shares recycle round, keeping the SP fairly steady
Sometimes, MM'S keep the outlet valve open for longer periods, resulting in a dramatic drop of SP (tree shake).....when this process has the desired effect, they buy up more shares to refill the hopper....SP rises, and so on and so on.....now, double or quadruple this up and you have multiple gangs of MM'S buying/selling stock between themselves, maybe even using amounts of shares, bought or sold, as codes ? All IMO of course.
